Since for the first time in the history of the show I was able to connect to the character of Ravish in today's episode, I have empathy for the guy today.
Its difficult to hear bad things about your parents. That is a given no matter what...even if you yourself hate your parent for some reason when you hear others say things about them it riles up your blood because you know you are connected to that person, they are part of your identity. I can appreciate Ravish's need to mourn for his mother away from everyone who hates her (regardless of their hate being justified by any reason) because to him, he wanted to remember only the side of her that was filled with love for him, he wanted to remember the mother who was his support, whom he might have idealized because he only saw her being praised as the woman who silently bore her husband's atrocities and yet raised two beautiful children and taught them to love the father who never gave her the love she needed in her life. He might have cultured his stoic nature modeling after her character. But to suddenly know that all that was a farce...that it was not real...yet as the son you can only want to remember the good things about the dead...you can only want to hold onto the sweet memories.

Ravish is in a dark place. He was already anxious regarding the return of his half brother, the fear of loosing the life he had built...the peace he enjoyed for the last 4 years was already shaken at the mere mention of his half-brother's existence. Then to loose the anchor in his life, and that too with such bitter truths being revealed...he is a broken man today. He longingly looks at the picture of his family, the family he wants, and needs...but the reality dawns on him...she loves him, the boy belongs to him... they could never be truly his...and he has no one to turn to for a shoulder...no one to share his pain with...he is utterly alone today.

Great job by Shashank. Great job by the director. Great job by the person who decided to have Ravish mourn alone.

But he had hints about his mother thrown at him so many times and he tried to overlook them. And he also knows his married life is just a bubble, Yet he chose to ignore all the warning signals and the final blow has given a much needed reality check. I only hope that he starts life afresh. He bonded with Sujata very well and that is one of the relationships which will stay with him. And he can build up a career. His blood relatives betrayed him. He can go back to serving his country. The family life which he craved for can be his if he only care to look at some girl who can love him.

I only wished to comment on the characters emotions in the episode shown yesterday...those are the only emotions i did understand. Otherwise i am generally left confused by this character.
