Karthik and Naira stood shocked seeing Keerthi in a disheveled condition, wounds on her face with bleeding lips. She was shivering from head to toe.

"Karthik" she whispered, and lost her balance, when he caught her. Unable to say a word from the shock, he took her inside made her sit and massaged her palms for warmth while Naira hurried inside and returned with a glass of water and a first aid box.

Putting all reasoning away for the second, together they attended to her first, cleaning her wounds. Keerthi stopped shivering; however she was still in a state of shock.

Karthik took her hands into his "Feeling better now" he asked gently

"I am sorry" she told looking at Naira. While Karthik looked puzzled, Naira knew that her worst fears were confirmed now.

"What are you sorry for? I don't understand. Will you tell me what's happening? Who is responsible for your condition? And where is Adityaji? You came alone from Delhi kya?' Karthik bombarded her with questions

"Karthik, I am sorry Karthik, or I should apologise to Naira more" Keerthi told in a low voice

"No di, please don't say sorry" Naira said with a choked voice.

Karthik was becoming to get angry now." Are you even planning to tell me what happened?" He screamed

"Karthik, I' ll tell everything. I have been hiding things for long and it has not helped anyone"

"What have you hidden" her brother asked, still visibly angry

"That whatever Naira accused Aditya is correct. He is an abuser and I have been abused by him and his family for the past 3 years from the first week of my marriage." Keerthi declared.

"What are you saying, that day you denied it in front of everyone"? Karthik asked his eyes widening in the jolt his sister had given him

"Karthik, I was forced to at that point in time, but now I have to tell. There is no point in hiding. He is not a good person. He has been abusing me from the first week of our marriage. He was never interested in the marriage and married me only because of the business deal between his father and our Papa"

"I have been hit and insulted by him. During your wedding functions also, I was tortured by him inside our own house right under the same roof you and Papa were there, but I did not want to tell anyone as I did not want any problems to come in between your marriage.

"He is a womaniser, Karthik. He has brought girls home and when I stood up against it, I was started to being tortured. His parents never said a word against all the stupidity. After all they were also ok with this alliance only for money"

"What Naira accused him during Mehandi was also true, I am sure he would have done that because that's what he is. But I am proud of Naira's courage as she stood up against him and I am also proud of you for how you supported her and your trust on her"

"After the Mehandi function, I realised how much he had manipulated trust in our family and I also knew that if I spoke up, I will be the one who would be blamed. In fact, I had told this to Dadi six months after marriage, but she dismissed it saying that I did not carry my responsibilities properly and if I was hit, I would be at fault."

"After the Mehandi fiasco, he was looking at ways to get back at you and Naira. This is the reason why I never spoke up that day . Before your haldi event, he tried to push me off the cliff near our haveli and that's when Naira saw me and saved me. She forced me to tell this to everyone, but I denied it."

" Even 5 minutes before your pheras, he took me away from the mandap and beat me till I bled from my lips because I was talking with Naksh teasingly about hiding your shoes. Also, with Papa's and his company being merged, I was in a fix, I did not know what to do"

"After the wedding we went back to Delhi, where it all began again .Each and every time you spoke to me he made me put the phone on speaker and I could not say anything at all"

"One week back he decided I was not needed any more . He has made up a story that I am in a relationship with his secretary and has even morphed pictures. That was the final straw and I gave up.

I raised my hand at him in anger for which he beat me black and blue and threw me out of the house. I took a bus back here and went to our house today, but before that he has already managed to manipulate Papa and sent the morphed pictures to him.'

"Papa and Dadi refused to believe anything I say and did not allow me also to enter his house. He disowned me as his daughter and pushed me away"

Keerthi finished her story and cried out loud. She wailed, venting out all the grief that she was holding for all these days. Karthik and Naira held her firmly, while losing control themselves.

The held her around for half an hour as Keerthi finally regained control. Karthik was now shaking with anger." I am starting to Delhi right now. I am going to teach that man a lesson right today"

"Karthik, listen to me. Please don't take decisions in anger." Naira said as she caught her hand but Karthik was in no mood to listen to her.

"What do you mean? Do you think I should sit quiet after so much has happened? Does he think my sister will not have anyone to speak for her? Just see what I do to him" Karthik yelled, pushing everything in his eyesight to the ground

"Naira is right Karthik. Please do not go there now. "Keerthi begged him

"You don't talk to me. I am not talking to you. You hid this and think you have achieved something? You have not trusted me at all. If you had you would have told this long back"

"Karthik, if I did not speak up, it is because I did not have anyone. You left the house after the wedding and did not speak to me for 2 years. Not even a call. And when I wanted to tell things had gone beyond my hand. I am not blaming you or anyone. It is just my fate that I did not have anyone."

"Yes you are right. I have not been a good brother" Karthik told, tears in his eyes. " But if you do not want me to go to Delhi, I want you and Naira to come with me to the house you both say as family. I shall speak up there for you. You cannot stop me now. Either you both come with me to Mr.Goenaka's house or I shall go alone and I cannot promise what will happen there." He told at the top of his voice.

"This is not right either Karthik, but we shall come with you" Keerthi told and got up but swayed on her feet.

"No, not right now." Karthik told her sharply. " You will first eat something and then we shall go to the doctor and then go there"

"I am lucky to have a brother like you Karthik. I am sorry for hiding things from you, but please don't me angry with me. I don't have anyone right now except you both" Keerthi told crying once again.

"We are there for you Keerthi di and we shall make sure you get justice." Naira told firmly wiping away Keerthi's tears.

"Yes, I want to fight back now" Keerthi said with a determination in her voice which she never knew before. " And I will fight back, get my name cleaned and him punished"
