New OLVs - Ranveer burns Suman's sarees

WU: Ranveer comes out of parmar house with several sarees (Sanjana, Suman, Antara and Veer follow him out) one by one he removes them from the hangers and throws them on the floor and lights fire to them, whilst telling Suman that hereafter she will never wear such plain and colourless sarees. The sarees are burning... Kalawati comes and says what is this noise and is stunned to see the fire - she questions to which veer replies that ranveer burnt his mother's colourless sarees and now she will wear colourful sarees. Kalawati says what - Sanjana says that whatever happened is right - today Suman will be engaged to ranveer so there is no room for such simple and colourless sarees in Suman's life anymore. Ranveer agrees and says hereafter only "khushi ke rang honge suman ki zindagi mein". Sanjana and Antara take Suman to get ready for the engagement function. Meanwhile veer runs and hugs Ranveer.

as it's nivedita's show I was expecting her to focus on characterisation and have strong characters yet I was unsure how she'd shape ranveer's character and role in what seems like a show focusing on two mother in laws. so I for one am really glad her male lead is different from the rest and will remain a strong support system for suman.

coming to the scene I wonder what makes him turn up to their house on the engagement?
