Rev i don't think he would have quit for the treatment he was being given, no one would quit their job unless they have not got something better even if there is no job satisfaction.

But then quitting for a movie is a big risk unless it's a lead/parallel lead role,(which I doubt it would be as the article says a big budget movie), he should have asked for a leave instead but perhaps they have an exclusivity contact

Om was pretty upset in a span of 2 to 3 days 3 ppl r dead. Maya is obviously a plot to make him lose his mind. His remorse kinda reminded me of when acp started his plots n om was very upset n on the verge of relapsing
