This character needs a little more rethink after the leap. Sometimes his motivations and his reactions are not in sync and just not clear. Who is this man? From what I have heard, or seen earlier post leap, Dev is now a man who thinks about his happiness first, he is ruthless, cold towards his mum and rest of the family.
He has affairs and sleeps with women in hotel rooms.
He loves Golu... only Golu.
Where are his sisters? Why is there no reaction or friction or input from them in this scenario? Dev's reaction to his sisters is important and that is totally missing and it is impacting his characterization.
His neglect of Golu post Soha is disturbing too like in 22 March episode. How could he ignore what Golu was saying. There should have been a softer response or a more lovingly response for his only friend.
His disrespect of Sonakshi is evident. Its amazing that Sonakshi tolerates it even now but at least that part was consistent with characterization.
What was the need for CV to bring that Jatin jealousy moment. It serves no purpose when it is in relation to Sonakshi because Dev says again and again that he does not care for Sonakshi and it shows. This Jatin angle is confusing and unnecessary.
I am finding it tough to understand Dev's motivations and reactions.
Dev's character and its consistancy are important. It kept the show together. Maybe the CVs need to chart out who this new Dev is first. People change in seven years and if that is what happened to Dev then we should see that.
PS: the actor needs a better look. He looks tired and haggard in this look.
