Looks like she has been doing this since Karan-Kunal were kids. I don't think it is about making Karan weak as much as it is about making Kunal strong - the only heir to the Chauhans.

There definitely is more to this than what we are seeing at the moment. The more the bahu's are praised, the more nasty Sandhya seems to be.
