Swastik Production has started work on a Mythological show on Goddess Kaali, for Colors.

Puja Sharma, who played Draupadi in Mahabharat, is chosen to play the powerful Kaali.

Colors started Jay jag Janani Maa Durga in 2012 but failed in numbers and ended abruptly.It was Sagar Arts show.

^^ I am looking foreword to see stories of Goddess Mahakali. Hope they do proper research & show her significance well.
JJMD had some interesting portrayal of Ma Durga. The timimg was too early for a show to get good trp. May be that didnt work for getting good ratings.
Let's hope Swastik production does justice to this Powerful form of Maa.

How many well known stories are there on Ma Kali? I know of just 2 - her role alongside Veerbhadra when avenging Sati's death, and killing Chanda/Munda/Raktabheej. Oh, and her being a part of the war on Andhaka.

If they concentrate only on stories, then known stories are not much. But there is an unexplored aspect of various forms of Kaali eg. Dakshina Kaali, Smashan Kaali, Bhadra Kaali, Guhya Kaali, Rudra Kaali etc. Each of these forms have different significance, hence different stories.
They can start with origin of Kaali.
Devi Puran mentions of Mahakasli's Loka where she is with Mahakaal.
Indra with Tridev, visits that loka to be free of sin of Bhrahman hatya, not of Vritasur but of Rishi Dadhichi.
In one of the Kalpas, Mahadev & Mahakaali were Radha & Krishna respectively. Even some of Mahabhart's characters were Mahadev & Mahakaali's ansh, in that kapla. That story has them merging in their respective sources like Draupadi merging in Mahakaali in the end.
Mahakaali is Mahamaya.
Kalika Puran, will be considered too.
There may be many more lesser known stories.
If they dare to show her lesser known aspect then even Narsimha, not Vishnuji's Narsimha but an aspect of the Powerful Swachanda Bhairav, can be shown.
Bhairavs are a must for Kaali.

Devi Puran, I am refering to mentions about Indra's penance made him absolve sin of Brahman hatya which you've mentioned. But using Vajra made of Rishi Dadhichi's bones, was responsible him still not regaining his lost glory. Indra was asked to visit Mahakaali's loka, where Brhma, Vishnu, Shivji took him. Ganesh was dwarpaal with a Lion guarding the door. Indra couldnt enter Devi's court, where she was magestically sitting with Mahakaal on a throne made of precious Gems...

If they take only superficial approach of her stories then, the show may be just a moderate version of DKDM. Hope Goddess gives them sadbudhhi to do justice to her.

Since Ma Saraswati is the one who gives sadbudhhi, other deities are out of luck 😈 If there's ever a serial on her, I think it'll be shown well, but anyone else that we've seen, be it Ma Durga (JJMD), Mahadev (DkDM), Rama (SkR, Zee Ramayan), Krishna (DkDM), Hanuman (Mahaveer Hanuman),... it's pretty up in the air

Its the latest trend in Mythos to show interpretations instead of following the exact Puran's version. SKR was pure fiction. 😆
