I am looking forward to this show. I really do hope they follow the texts at least 75% if not more. There are many stories of Goddess Kali out there, especially from regional versions, and I'm sure they'll show Draupadi for a portion of the show too, as she is known as Kali's lengthiest incarnation in some southern sources.

Kali stories are very famous in Eastern India.
In India, Shaktism historically was introduced in later period. Many Purans are merely 1000 years old and updated on repeatedly.Markandey Puran and Devi Bhagvatam are kee sources which are dated approximately from 3 -6 century CE.So to expect original version will somehow be proved meaningless just because of word 'Creative Liberties' 😆.

Coming to Mahakali, she is very interesting goddess of Hinduism. Many western scholars were failed for long period to understand significance and imagination behind her stories. So they told Kali worshipping Indians as uncivilized people 😵. But what they were unable to mind is that she is also a form of Adi Parashakti and represents time and death.

There will of course need to represent 10 Mahavidya concept and may be purush-prakriti.

Mainly Kali is associated with Tantra so many unheard stories we will see in show.

Shakti has many folk tales in our country specifically region wise. We had seen 1 story of Parvati transferring into Kali in DKDM when Mahadev had taken Batuk avtar in February 2013😊

At last, show is made by Swastik. They are masters in fiction versions of Surya Putra Karn Mahabharat Shani and others. So we should not expect much otherwise we will hurt only.

Contelilo Telefilms Balaji all are same making histro-fiction as well as mytho-fiction, only Sagar Arts and somewhere Triangles are nearly perfect.

People generally think of Kali as the Goddess of destruction and death, but there is so much more to her. Like Yama Dharmaraja, she also symbolizes justice and righteousness. Yes, she symbolizes destruction, but the destruction of injustice from this world.

I love pooja, so I will be definitely be in.
But the thing is that this one is produced by Swastik.
Now, I do think that they fictionalized a whole lot of stories.
But I generally like their interpretations.
Contiloe and triangle is ok.
They only choose their artists wrong.
Definitely the worst among the lot is balaji telefilms.
Now, EK is the queen of overdramatic melodrama.
Ok, they can do good semi-mythological shows like Naagin.
But, for historical, I say, steer clear of their shows.
All the other PH's shows have fiction overdose, but at least they match well with their timeline.
But in both JA and CN, there were overdose of saas bahu drama and melodramatic twists which did not fit with the timeline of the respective shows.
The treatment of mythos should be completely different from normal shows.
But EK tried using her own interpretations and went the show down to drain.
The only good thing she has in her historicals is Rajat tokas in the lead.
Sagar does mythos best. I've seen their ramayana(zee tv) and liked it.
From acting to sets, it was good.
There was a balance between drama AND fiction.
Heck, their mythos like prc were good even without overdose of fictionalised stories and drama.

Thanks for link.😊 You are looking quite excited by putting Puja's pic as signature here.😃

I am happy that show is on floor soon otherwise i thought it might take more months but it seems after IPL 10 show might hit screens from June 2017.

Truly today I remember DKDM that trend setted by it , due to that all Indian mythical concepts are now presented and Mahakali is another one.

Puja is amazing and teaser is impressive. 😳

I loved tag line, "Aant Hi Aarambh Hai"😛 Just perfect start !

I am surprised
Saurabh Raj Jain is approached for playing Lord Shiv.

How?!! He is always fitted and touted in character of Vishnu Krishna. How Shiv ? Both are different like sky and earth !

I mean Shiva's figure is masculine and his facial expressions must be tough and anger need to play Rudra or Bhairav here.

While SRJ is heighted and chocolate looking guy. How so?!!!

I know he told he is tired by playing Vishnu again and again and wants to explore something different.

He might never have thought to play Shiv while playing Vishnu in DKDM alongside Mohit😛
