A north Indian wedding is the stuff that Karan Johar films are made of. The lavish sets, colour coordinated designer clothes and jewellery and of course 'family' songs are trademarks of the director. Johar's latest Say Shaava Shaava which will air on NDTV Imagine, was launched in gala moviedom style. Johar co-hosts and judges this musi- cal show with Simi Garewal, while nine television actors will participate. Celebrations galore The promos were unveiled at a press conference recently. Maanish Goel, Mouni Roy and Narayani Shastri were present. Shastri explained that the show will have 11 episodes full of celebrations with no vote outs. The hosts will double up as judges and will decide the fate of the contestants. The show goes on air on January 21, the day of the channel's launch. The episodes will be aired daily for 11 days. Goel added that the viewers will not have to wait months to know who the winner is. Every eliminated contestant will have a bidaai, just like the ones in north Indian weddings. Break please But doesn't the show concentrate on the actors' singing skills? Roy said that the show is meant to be a fun journey and a much-needed break for its nine contestants. If rumours are anything to go by Roy , who plays Krishna Tulsi of Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, is already a favourite with the judges. The trio concluded that singing is only a small part of the show. "View- ers will not only get to listen to good songs but also laugh at bad songs and singers.
