Vidya Balan said, "Firstly nepotism exists in the world and not only in the industry. You know koi bhi apne logo ke baare mein pehle sochta hai...isme muje koi galat nai lagta...but having said that, I have never experienced anything such...I don't have anyone from the film Industry but on the basis of merit and on the basis of my belief, I have come so far. But her (Kangana Ranaut) experience has been different than mine. So it does not mean that because if I didn't have this experience, it doesn't exist. My experience has been different and theirs different. Who is to say? I have not experienced anything such."

but didn't vidya herself land parineeta after being rejected by as many as 10 film-makers
her first movie was shelved..and producers thought she is bad luck and kicked her out of all the ones she was supposed to be a part of..

would she have faced it if she was some one famous's daughter?

i don't know why she says she hasn't experienced it when she in a big way has..

But that was struggles. She wasn't replaced by a star kid or did a star kid get preferred over her. She did audition and got selected on her first audition. So she had got in by merit.

Come on Vidya, have a spine, I remember how much you said you even struggled for Parineeta. They used to call you randomly when you were out with your friends for auditions and you would have to go. You think the insiders did that. Anywho I am glad we got to enjoy your amazing talent onscreen regardless.

repeat this one more time because people did not seem to understand this comment.

Vidya has struggled but that is not because of nepotism. She would've been a victim of nepotism like our mata kangana if she was kicked out of a role or given less opportunities because of a star kid.

I love Vidya and Anushka's answers. Though I do think they are sugarcoating their words a bit.

@Red Of course you will say that.Because you are the wife of Sidharth Roy Malhotra.

@Bold Liar. Even if 90% of her journey was genuine, what about the filmfare that was given to her for Kahani and not PC for Barfi. Definitely nepotism played a part. Being the wife of Sidharth Roy Malhotra has definitely helped not hurt in BW.

vidya, anushka, priyanka, aishwarya, deepika, all of them reached the top and are extremely successful. What do people expect them to say to the nepotism question? Because they came in as outsiders and achieved great success. They're in fact the poster children for the other side of the argument. If these journos want support for the nepotism argument they should find someone who was affected by it and perhaps lost out on roles because of it.

exactly! Or the people who the industry treats as outsiders or shuns like Kangu. Recently I saw them ask this question to Sid and Sid was like I am a prime example of this and I am still working so how can I say something.
