Symbolism of Lord Ganesha

But even from the stories related to Ganesha I couldnt connect much of this symbolism. Maya is shown a staunch devotee of Lord Ganesha. Somehow, something I connected yesterday when I saw her praying in front of Ganesha.

Ganesha is always symbolic of the person who removes the obstacles. Before starting anything auspicious we break the coconut in front of Ganesh so that all the obstacles he take care of. Maya the child has only faced obstacles in life. From her father, to mother everything was a obstacle to her. She was a lone fighter and she derived the will to fight from this God who is known to be obstacle remover.

Her faith is that the Lord will always show some way to remove obstacle from her path. And her prayers I have always found to be earnest. She doesnt demand anything from Ganesha. Mostly she says thank you. I still remember sitting and cutting the b'day cake in front of Lord Ganesha. Her only real friend. She thanks Ganesha for giving her Arjun. She tells Ganesha all the mistakes are done by her, Jhanvi should be spared. You can see Maya talking to Ganesha as if she is talking to a person. She talks freely to her God without inhibitions, without fear. Maya doesnt fear the God, because she tells so far you have protected me and when the diya in front of Ganesha goes when Maya keeps Arjun's hand on her head, I told protection of Ganesha is gone. As she now thinks Arjun is her protector. It was always Ganesha's hand on her head. But then she believed Arjun will remove all her obstacles. That's why she promises in front of Ganesha she is Maya Arjun Sharma who wants to leave behind her past and move forward.

Now Maya has come back to the person she trusts the most. Her Ganesha and has started her monologues, because the protection she expected from Arjun is not forthcoming. She is where it started. But more messier. She was atleast alone earlier, running a successful company. Now she has lost the company, has seen her husband flirting with her friend, office staff what not. Now she is going to stand between Saanjh and Arjun. Again problem. Because earlier the Lord was between her and her obstacles. Now she is taking the position. Once again Maya has to give that control to the Lord she trusts the most. For him to come and stand between her and her obstacle. Her story changed direction in front of Lord Ganesha where she might have come out of the mess Ashwin put her in and then created a successful company. For her story to change direction once again only if Lord Ganesha comes between Saanjh and Arjun.

I hope itz not Maya, but Lord Ganesha who wud come between Saajun. I want Maya to leave Arjun n move ahead in life.

In many serials they show ganesha but Beyhadh is always diff and it is the main theme from start of this show is SYMBOLISM.

They always have before happening of something as symbolically shown in this serial and every thing is SYMBOLISM.

Same way here in this serial ganesha is referred to one main SYMBOLISM of obstacles.

And maya treats and considers him as her friend and respects way too much.

Even in office first thing that she does is prayer after entering it.

I really love the maya who's so child like and pure before her ganesha :)

And yes I want her ganesha to tc of her obstacles.

@Nithu the main point about Maya is that Ganesha is a person for her. She feels solace at his feet. And it is said when belief is earnest, God does come in the form of human for your protection. You never know from where the supreme power sends support. Maya is the only person in the show who doesnt order Ganesha or demand anything from him. She says thank you. She is that person who doesnt go and proclaim who her Lord will punish. Instead tells him each and every problem, even her decisions, her actions good or bad. Her relation with lord is that of an innocent 9 year old who might be 25 years old, but somewhere a child still searching for security.

That's not all, His head is said to signal a pure soul while his grotesque body the bloated stomach, the obese features and the head of the elephant suggests that what appears is not the truth, in other words, what is infront of you is an illusion - a Maya..

Strange or perhaps it is not so strange to see Maya worshipping the lord of Maya.😊

And when Arjun brought drinks inside the office and he covered Ganesha so that he cannot see but he doesnt know that Maya is above him .

But now Arjun's Ashwin actions are making him bring back the old Maya .How much Vandana tried to trigger Maya to show her real identity of being beyhadh but it is ultimately Arjun's behavior and character is what making her come back to her old form .In the first episode we see that Arjun and Saanjh are enjoying and suddenly Maya takes Saanjh place and Arjun was like how dare she comes and walks in just like that and then Saanjh tells Arjun that see her tears how she is crying towards Ganesha and now the situation is changed. Its Saanjh who is coming in place of Maya and trying to take over Arjun by her deep friendship filled love .Which brings Maya back to her Ganesha for help

@ajay I felt somewhere he loved Maya along with the incentives. But now I feel he only lusted her, her body and then incentives. Even now Arjun wants her body which he feels is his. That's why I said Maya has become powerless. She told VM Arjun has become hers. Look at what he is doing now and as long as Saanjh is there Maya is the prey and Arjun the hunter.

@isha the poor thing thought marriage with Arjun will change something for her. It was Jhanvi who directed Maya's feelings towards Arjun. She wanted her daughter to get married. As if marriage was the solution to Maya's problems. That day also I told Maya actually needs a mother, some therapy and not marriage. Jhanvi is that kind of mother who feels marriage is the panacea of any trouble that affects a woman. But it is a bane if it doesnt happen with the right person. You are better off single.
