It's said One day, someone will walk into your life and make you see why it never worked out with anyone else.' I never believed that I will meet that someone' ever, for I thought a haughty person like me would never fall in love. But at its best, life is completely unpredictable, you never know what is coming next and so I never saw Arnav coming.
Arnav, he is synonymous to the words like stupid', psycho', foolish' and all the words in the English dictionary that confer the meaning mad'. In a routine life, I would maintain a distance of 100 yards with someone like him, for you never know what he might do any second. He may start to laugh out of nowhere, crack all the ugly jokes and even embarrass the shit out of you sometimes.
But what happens when someone who is so devoid of laughter for a tad long time that she has forgotten to laugh?
Well, the answer is Arnav would make that person laugh.
For all the crazy antics he possesses, he can make anyone laugh; no one can really escape his infectiousness! Neither could I!
Hearing his non-sensible talks from a distance, I would laugh. Hiding behind the doors, I used to hear him talk and a laugh used to escape my mouth. For hours I used to stand there and hear him, soon it had become a ritual. Sundays had soon turned into a melancholy, when I couldn't hear him talk.
I often wondered what made me do it, standing behind the doors; it not only sounded but was actually insane. Who does that? And that too for hearing the uttermost stupid shit any person can ever talk!
Surrendering to my heart's wish, I couldn't help but stand listening to him, laughing, smiling and experiencing the calm that had started to prevail in my heart.
That person who had forgotten to laugh was me, and Arnav he had managed to make me laugh without even knowing. Even I, without any knowledge, had fallen for him. That egoistic haughty girl, who couldn't even stand that nonsense of a person, was now in love with him.
For days I used to question that this can't be happening to me, I can never fall in love and that too with someone as notorious as Arnav. But each day as I stood behind those doors hearing him talk and merrily jest about random stuff, my throbbing heart, my ear to ear smile, enjoying laughter and appalling sense of happiness would give in to my answers.
Being sure that I won't be able to voice my feelings to him ever, I found solace in just hearing him from a distance. Following this daily routine I had found my own happy corner without any expectations.
