Chapter 5


The New Year


Ishita walked out from the hotel when a car stopped near to her and the driver walked out from the car and handed a chit in her hand. "He will take you to your destination." She read.

The driver opened the door for her and she took her seat. The car halted at the beach side. "Here?" She asked to the driver who nodded and opened the door for her.

Ishita walked out from the car, she was looking around the deserted beach, only the sound of waves were reaching to her ear. She started walking towards the sea shore when she saw one by one lights were turning on. Ishita smiled when the eyes fall on the sands where she saw a direction sign, Ishita followed the signs and reached to her destination. She was standing at the edge of a path which was decorated with the rose petals. She searched for him, "Raman?"

Suddenly her phone beeped, she checked the message, "Don't be nervous Ish.." She smiled reading his message and walked on the rose petals. Ishita reached near the stage where Raman organized a dinner. Ishita looked around to find him, "Raman now enough. Stop your hide and sick.. Come out..!" As she said, she felt rose shower on her, Ishita looked up and the soft petals touched her face, she twirled under the shower, Ishita took few petals in her hand and blow them, she was enjoying under the rose shower when she turned and bumped with Raman, Raman hold her around her waist to prevent her from falling, they were too close that their breath mingle together. Ishita shyly looked down when Raman loosen his grip.

Ishita parted from him, Raman pulled the chair for her and they settled on their respective seats. All the time he was staring at her making her heart beat fast. 'Don't stare at me like this Raman' Ishita's inner mind said.

"Huh?" Raman raised his one eye brow at her.

"What?" She asked nervous.

"I thought you said something." Ishita widened her eyes and shook her head in no.

"Ish.. Give me your hand." Raman asked forwarding his hand towards her, she looked on confuse and placed her hand on him when Raman tied a diamond bracelet on her wrist. "Raman it's..." But before she could say Raman said, "Not expensive than you." and he kissed on her knuckle making her blush.

Raman smiled seeing the his impact on her. They had their dinner silently, though they had many things to say to each other but today their words didn't reach to their throat. Ishita was nervously playing with her knuckles when getting courage they called each other in unison.

"You say.." Raman asked her to proceed.

"No. You say.."

"If we continue to force each other then I guess, no one can say our words." Raman chuckled. "Fine then.." Saying this he stood up from the chair and walked to her, "Ishita?" He forwarded his hand, she looked up and placed her hand.

"Ish, 5minutes left for the new year, and at the end of the year, I want to confess something to you." Raman said holding her hand in between his. "You know Ish.. Sanjh was right. Sometimes we need to confess our love." Ishita widened her eyes. Raman said, "I am sorry. I heard your conversation but if I wouldn't hear that then I guess I wouldn't stand here. You know Ish, you became a part of my life and now I can't think my life without you. So..." Raman goes on his knee, "Ms Ishita Iyer, I want to spend my rest of the life with you. Will you marry me?" He asked holding a ring.

"Raman..." She was amazed.

"I know you might be thinking we are already getting married then why am I doing this.. Right? Ishita, professing your love makes the relation more beautiful."

Ishita smiled amidst her tears when they heard the countdown which coming from her. "Say yes jaan.. My knee is aching." He giggled.

"Yes. I'll marry you." She confessed when Raman slipped the ring in her knuckle and they hugged under the fireworks.

They stayed on each other's arm for sometime, then Raman parted her from him and cupped her face saying, "I love you Ishita."

Ishita smiled, "I love you too."

"I know." He chuckled making her blush and then placed a soft kiss on her forehead and hugged again.

Ishita parted from him and shyly turned back when Raman smiled and whispered in her ear, "I have one more surprise for you." She turned at him confuse when Raman played the music and forward his hand, Ishita smiled brightly and placed her hand.

Tere sang yaara
Khush rang bahara
Tu raat deewani
Main zard sitara

Raman pulled her closer to him and tangled his one hand with hers and slipped another hand on her waist. The swayed their bodies with the lyrics.

O karam khudaya hai

Raman twirled her in a circle holding her tip of the finger when the cottons fall on them like a snow, Ishita delighted.

"Raman this..?"

"Now I have no idea where I can get snowfall in beach so I made it artificial. Hope this gives you real impact."

Ishita laughed and removed the cotton piece from his hair saying, "I love it but you don't need to do all this. You made me yours, your love is enough for me. Until you're with me, I don't need anything else." She said wrapping her arms around him. They shared an intense eye lock.

At the end of the song, they hugged together when Raman got a call. He received the call, "Yes ma?"

"Raman, we are at Iyer house. So you don't need to go home, directly come here." Toshiji said.

"Okay." Saying this he hung up the call.

"I guess, today I can get enough time to spend with you." Raman smiled at her.

Raman was laying near the sea beach, Ishita was resting her head on his chest. "Raman.. What if I reject you on the first meeting?"

"This is useless question as I still remember after watching me your expressions were worth watching."He laughed.

"I am just asking you to imagine. What will you do?" She asked.

"Umm.. May be I will ask you to be my friend." Ishita smiled hearing him, "Then?" She asked.

"Then... I.. I will try to impress..." Raman saw a slight curve on her lips. "I will try to impress Sanjh."

"What?" Ishita asked shocked and sat back.

"Yeah. See.. Sanjh is beautiful, she is like you and moreover she also likes me. She isn't like you who thought Raman might be some old.." As Raman said, Ishita started hitting him, "Why are you hitting me?"

"You are so bad. How could you flirt with Sanjh?"

"What else I would do? If the girl with whom I supposed to marry, if reject me."

"So what? It.. It means you flirt in your college days. Right?" She asked furious. "Show me your phone?"

"Will you spy on your would be husband?"

"Yes. I will.. Now show me. Let me see..!"

Raman smiled seeing her jealous, he handed her phone when Ishita checked everything. From contacts to WhatsApp. "Did you find anything?" Raman asked teasingly.

When Ishita checked the Gallery where she found a photo, she asked showing him, "Who is she?"

"She..? Shagun."

"Shagun..? Shagun Khanna? Why are you keeping her photo in your phone?"

"Isn't she hot?" Raman asked.

"Hot my foot. You tell me, why did you keep her photo? You know all men are same. Where they find beautiful girls they rushed behind them. I.. I don't want to talk with you. I am leaving." Saying this, she was going to get up when Raman pulled her, she landed on his chest. "Leave..!"

"Do you think, am I that kind of guy who run behind other girls?"

Ishita rolled her eyes, "Your actions are speaking aloud."

"Yes. I run behind a girl nowadays and that's only you. May be I flirted with girls in my college days but I never shared the bond which I share with you. I never felt that day before which I feel for you." Ishita smiled slightly but pretend to be stern.

"... And that photo?"

"I asked my manager to give me the details of her when he send me her photo along with the details." Ishita nodded. Raman cupped her face saying, "Ishita, I love you. And I promise you I will always be honest towards this relation. I won't disrespect our relation and never break your trust."

Ishita had a glint of tear on her eyes, she kissed on his cheek saying," I know Raman and I also promise you the same."

They looked into each other's eyes when Raman slowly decreased the distance between them, feeling his warm breath on her nape, Ishita closed her eyes and slowly wound her arms around his neck and finally their lips locked together.

Raman and Ishita returned at Iyer house around 1 am and saw the family having gala time together. For few times they joined their family and then went to the terrace to spend quality time together. Ishita was sitting on the bench resting her head on his shoulder, she was recalling their moments which they spend together today.

"I never knew, you blush so much." Raman teased her when she playfully hit on his chest and engrossed her head into his chest more.

They were enjoying each other's company when Raman saw Shravan entered, they parted from each other. "Shravu you? You didn't sleep yet?" Raman asked walking to him.

"No one loves me." He replied disappoint. Raman looked at Ishita and bend down and came on his height. "Tell me what happened?"

"Amma appa and the entire family was enjoying down but amma told me to sleep. Why? Just because I am a kid, I have no right to enjoy.."

"Who told you this? Okay.. We both will enjoy. Let's play some game. What say?" Raman asked to cheer him.

"Game? You didn't give me the games. I know you forgot."

"No champ.. I didn't. You know after tomorrow, I am going Paris for some work, so I decided to bring games from there, you know they have many collections."

"Really? You won't forget right?" Shravan asked when Raman nodded. "Okay.. Now go and ask chitti to give her phone. We will play game."

Shravan get the phone from Ishita and Raman and Shravan sat on the floor, they both were playing some multinational game on their phones and enjoying. Ishita was admiring both of them. Around 30 minutes later, Shravan yawned saying, "I am sleepy. We will play later. Thank you." He kissed Raman and left.

Raman turned at Ishita and saw her sleeping in the sitting position, he goes to her and lifted her in his arms, though Ishita could feel him but didn't bother to open her eyes, she wrapped her arms around him.

Raman took her in her room and placed her on the bed gently, he covered her with the blanket and kissed on her forehead murmuring, "Good night jaan." Saying this he was going to leave when Ishita held his hand. Raman knew what she was indicating, so he took his position beside her and switched off the light.

Next morning, Raman woke up early and informing the family, he left. Around 9 am, Ishita woke up and searched for Raman when she checked her phone. She read the message, "Good morning jaan. I am sorry, without informing you I left. Actually you were sleeping so peacefully and I didn't wish to wake you up." Ishita smiled and called him.

"Good morning Ish.." He answered.

"Hmm..! Where are you?" She asked.

"Office."

"What? But why? You are such a cruel boss. You didn't give holiday to your employees." She sighed.

"Madam.. Employees are off duty but their boss is on duty. Actually tomorrow I am leaving, so I need to wrap up some work here."

"Oh.. I see.."

"Okay.. Ish.. Listen.. I will talk with you later and listen, be ready. We will go for shopping. Actually I need to buy some winter suits." Raman informed.

"Okay." She smiled.

Raman and Ishita walked in the mall, they were selecting his jackets and some casual clothes when Raman saw a sherwani. "Isn't that beautiful?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Let me try it." He winked.

"Raman we came here for something else. Let us do that first." Ishita chided.

"Oho.. It will take 5 minutes only." Saying this, he went to trial room.

Raman walked out wearing that Sherwani. "How am I looking?"

"Handsome."

"See.. I perfectly fit in it." Ishita nodded.

"Raman.. No occasion is coming.. Then why do you want to buy it now?" Ishita asked.

"For our engagement." He replied.

"The date isn't fix yet. We will try better later. You go and change it. You have to buy more clothes." She strictly said when Raman made face and left to change, meanwhile Ishita buy the sherwani and asked the manager to send it on her address.

After that they shopped his clothes, had lunch together and then Raman dropped her at her place.

At night, Raman called her while packing his clothes. "Ish, tell me brown or black? Which suits on me?"

"Both.." She replied.

"No.. Anyone."

"Okay then black. But why did you ask?" She asked confuse.

"I was confuse which suit I should keep, so I asked."

"You know.. You are mad." She chuckled.

Then Raman finished his packing with her help. "Recheck everything once again. Your files, laptop. Most important, passport."

"Yes. I kept everything."

"Okay. When is your flight?"

"1:00 in the morning."

"Hmm..!" She hummed.

"Don't worry, I will try to visit you before leaving."

"Take good care of your."

"Yes jaan."

"Go and sleep now. Good night." Before she broke down, she quickly hang up the call.

Next morning, Raman came to visit Iyers. Everyone asked him to take proper care, all were surrounded by him but Raman wanted to be with his lady love alone for some time after some time later, Raman got some free space, he walked to her. "Why did you cry last night?"

"Me?" She said looking other side.

"If so, then say it looking into my eyes." He asked making her face him.

"I will miss you." She said.

"I will miss you too. Promise me, you will take care and will not cry remembering me." Ishita nodded when Raman placed a kiss on her forehead.

"You also take care." Ishita said when Raman nodded and they hugged.

12 hours passed, Raman left for Paris. Around 1:30 am, Ishita's phone rang. "You reached?" She asked receiving the call.

"Yes just now, check in the hotel. You haven't sleep yet?" Raman asked surprised.

"I was waiting for your call."

He smiled. "Now go to sleep. And listen, may be tomorrow I can't call you entire day. Have back to back meeting."

"Okay. Just have your lunch on time and now call at your home and inform them about your arrival." She reminded him.

"Yeah.. Good night." And they hang up the call.

Next two days passed like two years, Raman couldn't called her much due to work pressure and Ishita didn't insisted as she understood. On a such time Bhalla family arrived at Iyer house. They were talking about random things when Mr Bhalla said, "Why not we plan a family trip? Raman is out of India, Ishita puttar must be feeling alone."

"That's a good idea Bhalla jee.." Mrs Bhalla supported him.

"Let's go to Paris. Chitti miss Raman uncle a lot." Shravan said making everyone laugh. But Ishita felt embarrassed.

"That's a good idea Shravu. What say Iyer sahab..?" Mr Bhalla asked excited.

"Yes. I don't have any problem."

"Okay then I will book the tickets for tomorrow."

"But Ishu, do not inform Raman. We will surprise him." Mrs Iyer said when Ishita was so much excited for the trip.
