I love him, he loves me: The veteran actress had admitted to being in love with Big B in an old interview of a glossy...

Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan's roaring affair still remains as one of the biggest Bollywood scandals ever. While Big B never admitted to it, several reports in dailies, glossies confirmed their love relationship.

Rekha was unabashed, brazen and extremely honest. Far ahead of her times. She never hid her personal life from the prying eyes of the media. Rather, she was one of those few who dared to bare it all in front of everyone.

In an old interview with Filmfare in November, 1984, Rekha had finally confessed about her relationship with Big B. She broke her silence and explained why she is even fine with Amitabh's denial of their affair.

She told the glossy, "Why should he have not done it? He did it to protect his image, to protect his family, his children. I think it is beautiful. I don't care what the public thinks of it. Why should the public know of my love for him or his love for me? I love him. He loves me - that's it. I don't care what anybody thinks. If he'd reacted that way towards me in private, I would have been very disappointed. But has he ever done that? I ask you. So why should I care about what he's said in public?"

It didn't just end there. She continued, "I know people must be saying bechari Rekha, pagal hai us par, phir bhi dekho. Maybe, I deserve that pity. Not that he has 10 rollicking affairs! Mr Bachchan is still old fashioned. He doesn't want to hurt anybody, so why hurt his wife? Mr Bachchan is important to me, not to anybody else."

Hurting one woman to not hurt another is just as wrong. Only if love could be black and white. Only if people loved themselves more than they loved others.Sigh!!

She is just as responsible as was he, for she chose to be in such a relationship.

Forgive me as I disagree to her being JUST AS responsible as him since she has no duty of care or loyalty towards Jaya or the kids but he does. Yes she isn't innocent the as she knew full well he was married and still continued with such a relationship but he was the one who chose to cheat on his wife and put strain on his marriage and family as a result. Therefore he is MORE RESPONSIBLE THAN HER

I was strictly talking from Rekha's perspective about her relationship with AB and NOT from Jaya's or Jaya's marriage.
What Rekha got out of such a relationship is as much her fault as was of the man involved coz she chose a relationship where a man wouldn't acknowledge her publicly.

I 100% accede that the onus of honoring the marital vows lies with the two people who take them with each with their family and friends as witness. No general consensus of moral code needs to be adhered to.

Oh right I understand. Yes I agree she put herself in the position of being ignored/denied in public and so isn't likely to get any support from me on this.

I am however very intrigued by her psyche in making such a choice. I genuinely believe her childhood messed her up so much when her father denied his relationship with her mum and being called an illegitimate child etc that she came to view these relationships as "normal". In simple terms she's had daddy issues and that has led to her latching herself onto men for approval and validation

That is my amateur level psycho analysis. I could be entirely wrong. Just a musing of mine.

Psychologist link almost all life issues to childhood triggers.Could be that or could be genuine love that happened at a wrong time. Feelings don't follow the law of the land, it is what it is, and sometimes it's just bad timing.

She did try and move on to other men and women (rumor) but who your heart aches for is organic, I guess. Her choice, her misery or joy.

I think lower of AB in the whole scenario. I think he owed both women more. I have very little respect for people who first indulge and then hide behind conformist rules of the society. I think he gets far more respect than he deserves.
