I don't believe that a day can be special on its own. There are two components which make it special, unique - different from all the other days that rush past us as time flies by. 1.) You, yourself and 2.) Those who care for you.
You make this day special because this was when you graced the world with your presence.
Those who care for you make it unique by trying their best make you feel special. I hope we fall into this category!
