Hey Guys!! I am back with an update (finally). As uni is starting in a few days, updates will mainly be on the weekend and I'll try to make them as frequent as possible. Other than that, I hope you enjoy this update, where you get to see more of Shravan's side of things.

Chapter 4

Shravan sat in the Tiwari living room talking to Nanu, when his wandering gaze settled upon her. She looked ethereal in the yellow anarkali she was wearing. Her face had a glow, regardless of only wearing some clear lip gloss and eyeliner. As if in a trance he stood up and held her hand in his and escorted her out of the house. He slowly opened the car door for her, giving her a small smile and went towards the driver's side. The drive was a quiet affair. Shravan didn't know what had come over him. Why was he behaving like this? Didn't he decide that they couldn't be together ten years ago? Wasn't he the one who decided that they will forget about each other and move on with their lives? Then how could he be the one to lose control? To say he was affected by her was an understatement. He had come into her room to see how long it would take for her to get ready. To see her just in a towel was not something he was prepared for and something snapped in him. He had to touch her, he had to see if she was affected by his presence. Caging her in his arms wasn't satisfying he needed more, but giving into his greed would put their perfect world into ruins, and he couldn't have that. And so, as nonchalantly as he could he just said, "tumhaari abhi bhi late hone ki aadat gayi nahi naa?" to tease her a little.

The journey came to an end with Shravan parking the car in the parking lot of Water's Edge. Before Suman could get out, he rushed to her side to open the door for her and escorted her inside the restaurant. Water's Edge was an elite restaurant, where rich industrialists, big businessman and Bollywood actors often came to dine. He had wanted to bring Suman here since it opened, but as fate had it, they couldn't come until today. The restaurant had a renaissance look. Painting by Leonardo da Vinci, and other many famous artists of the time were replicated on the roof and walls. There were chandeliers that were made of gold and Swarovski crystals, making them shine. The tables had white tablecloths on them with a 3 candles, candle stand and a small vase with a rose. They were seated at a table for two next to the big window, in which they could look down at the hustling, bustling city. Their city. Suman looked at Shravan as he looked out of the window, taking him in. A part of her was still shocked that the nerdy chashmish she had grown up with had become this charming and suave man, to the point that he managed to fluster her. To say the least, she enjoyed his company a lot, they're topics ranging from politics, to recent movies they've watched and ending at their deepest secrets.

To say the least, Shravan had missed her company. He had friends in London in fact a whole group; Riya, Rishi, Eric, Elena, Mark and Michelle, but he wasn't nearly as close to them as he was with Sumo. The dinner they had, had brought him back to their childhood, and in this moment he knew, he wouldn't change it for the world. He knew they couldn't be together in the end, but right now, and all the moments before her marriage were going to be the memories he was going to use to get through the rest of his life. He looked back at her, memorising every inch of her face. Through the years, he noticed, her face had become thinner, but the oval shape of her remained. She had a more defined jawline, her cheeks were thinner, but still were cute as before and fun to pull. Her lips were plump as before, her teeth just as white. Her laugh, absolutely mesmerising. He looked at her hair, the hair which he loved the smell of and the length of which made him lost in it. His eyes went down to hers. The deeper he looked in them, the more secrets he found. On the surface they were kind and soft, looking further you would see an underlying layer of mischief, and eventually, all you could see was the pain she had tried to cover up over the years. He was broken out of his reverie when he heard her voice;

"Shravan, why did you bring me here?"

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is, this is such an expensive place, you know you could've just taken me to a dhaba,"

"Yes, but then I would miss out on the opportunity to see how you fail to pronounce the names of these authentic Chinese dishes and go on to say how your restaurant has much better names,"

"Oh, shut up will you? Otherwise I will come over there and whack your head. Now tell me the truth,"

"Well, I don't know, I just wanted to bring you here, because the least you deserve is fine dining. I wanted to just say that you deserve the whole world and this is the least I could do,"

She just looked deeply into his eyes in response, her tongue unable to form a coherent sentence.

"Kya hua?"

"Nothing, just thinking what did I do to deserve you,"

Shravan gave her a smile in return, thinking to himself, "Sumo, I should be the one saying that, for you destroyed all my inner demons, by simply caring,"

Bawara mann raah taake tarse re

Naina bhi malhaar banke barse re

Aadhe se adhoore se

Bin tere hum huve

Pheeka lage hai mujhko saara jahaan

Yeh kaisi khushi hai

Jo maum si hai

Aankhon ke raste hanske pighalne lagi

Mannat ke dhage aise hain baandhe

Toote na rishta judke tujhse kabhi

Sau balaaye le gaya tu sar se re

Naina ye malhaar banke barse re

After their eventful dinner, they had gone out for kulfi with Suman eating most of them. He had then proceeded to drop her home and went to his own house, to be engulfed by emptiness. He had just got out of the bathroom, ready to sleep when the shrill ringtone of his phone blared and echoed in the room. Mr. Malhotra, the screen flashed. He put it back down and closed his eyes, he was jolted awake again as the phone was still ringing. Reluctantly he picked up;

"Shravan, please don't cut the phone. Listen to me," The man pleaded

"What is it? It's late and I want to sleep," Shravan snapped,

"Please, listen to me for once, I have something important to tell you,"

"There's a reason why I've kept my distance from you in the past 5 years, I don't want to hear anything,"

"Shravan, beta, please, I need your help. At least for the sake of being your father you can have it in you to help me out,"

"Mr. Malhotra, I had a father once, but he never cared about me, my emotions, my feelings and so at this point, I have no parents. I am an orphan. You have another son, ask him for help, because frankly, I am not interested!"

He cut the call, failing to listen to what he had to say. His eyes drooped shut, but sleep still evaded him.
