Mehak nodded and continued working on the curry again. Kunal left to meet the in house doctor to treat his hand burns.

Shaurya: Aren't you hurt Ms. Sharma?

Shaurya whispered in Mehak's ear. Mehak was so engrossed in cutting the veggies that she didn't realize him standing so close to her. She was startled with this sudden invasion of her privacy.

Mehak: I...I...

Shaurya: Has the cat got your tongue? He smirked.

Mehak moved a little farther and went to the next work station to look for spices to add in the curry.

Shaurya moved a little closer to her and said: I asked you something Ms. Sharma..few minutes back when I was hurt you didn't even blink and now when your "so called admirer Kunal" was hurt, you were so worried. In case you are suffering from amnesia, then let me remind you that you are getting married to Ajay in few days. I hope you haven't forgotten.

Mehak looked at him in disgust. She knew he was angry that she didn't come running to him when he was hurt in the conference room.

Mehak: I remember very well who I m getting married to.

Shaurya was pissed off with her behavior.

Shaurya pulled her arm and said: What is your problem Mehak? I have been noticing for the last couple of days... Kuch jyaada hi attitude nahi aa gaya tum mein...

Mehak was in a very foul mood today. Nothing was going right today. A lot of time was wasted in the session and now she would have to invest few more hours to prepare the curry again. Time was running out of her hands.

Mehak: Sir, I need to start working on the curry again. So will you please excuse me?

Shaurya: Nahi

Mehak had enough of his childish attitude. She growled back in anger: Toh bhaad mein jaao.

She pushed him and started pouring oil in the pan. Shaurya was taken aback with her reaction. For the last few days, he wanted her to react this way but now when she finally did, he felt something weird. Right now, his priority was to understand Mehak's indifference towards him and her concern for Kunal.

Shaurya: I will leave if you just answer one question of mine.

Mehak spoke without looking at him: I don't have time for your nonsense Q & A session.

Shaurya: Why were you so worried for Kunal and not me?

Mehak was cutting the onions in the pan when she looked at him and said: What?

Shaurya: You heard me Mehak..Why?

Mehak: He had burnt his hand.

Shaurya: I too had injured my hand.

He whined like a child showing his hand with the cut to her.

Mehak rolled her eyes at Shaurya's reaction.

Mehak to herself: He is a nutcase. Why am I even answering him? Didn't I decide to ignore him..I am breaking my own rule..Keep your calm and stay cool!!

Mehak took a deep breath and concentrated on her curry.

Shaurya stood next to Mehak and looked at her: You didn't answer?

Mehak looked at him. He looked like a child who desperately wanted to know why his mother didn't buy his favorite lollypop. Mehak couldn't deny the fact but Shaurya looked very innocent and vulnerable with those puppy eyes. But was this genuine or was it a trap again?

Mehak: It didn't matter to me. Happy now...Can I continue with what I was doing?

Shaurya was disappointed with her answer. Few days back, he did think that Mehak had moved on in her life but then those were his thoughts and he knew they weren't fully right. But with Mehak accepting and saying that it didn't matter to her if he is hurt, pained him.

Shaurya asked innocently: Really??

Mehak knew if she kept on answering all his questions, she wouldn't be able to finish her work. After working with him for the last three months, she had realized one thing that Shaurya was someone who would only ask questions for the sake of asking. He wished people to please him all the time and if he wasn't satisfied with anybody's reply, he would keep on questioning them unless he got the reply that he wanted.

Shaurya: It really wouldn't bother you if I was hurt?

Mehak: Nope.

Mehak was trying to hide her smile now. The truth was that she was melting with his behavior. She couldn't help herself feeling sorry for him. His eyes had so much innocence but she wouldn't let herself fall in his trap again.

Shaurya: Mehak...Mehak...

Mehak continued ignoring him and concentrated on her work. Shaurya took the knife from the cabinet and pointed it towards his hand.

Shaurya: What if I cut my hand with this knife? Would it still not matter to you? Do you remember how tensed you were when I had got a paper cut?

Mehak: I don't remember any such incident.

Shaurya was shocked: You dnt remember that...how could you? It was only few months back and you...

Mehak: Aap yahan se jaane ka kya lenge?

She was irritated with his nonsense now. It was getting too much for her to handle.

Angrily Shaurya threw the knife and closed the kitchen door with a thud.

Mehak to herself: Kuththe ki dumm hai woh , tu apna khoon mat jala Mehak...Miitti daal uspe...
