True...For Desi serials to show the main lead pulling of the mangalsutra and throwing it off, is an exception. However, she threw of the mangalsutra when she had her face off with Dev, after the pre-nup signing right? The separation track started from that point.

Have no idea

but the confusing part is if they just separated then why Bijoy and Ishwari wants them to move on their lives and have their second marriages to who ever is chosen for them

I guess we will have to wait and see how CV's want this to be either a separation or a divorce

The thing is both in-laws can't tolerate each other and some how their ill feelings has always shadowed Dev-Sona's relationship...
