JNDSD~My take Wednesday 22nd February 2017 ~ To pastures new..
His love once empowered her but now it only disenchants . She senses an emptiness of waking up from a bad dream. Her love was blind, but now she sees .. she thought they would overcome all recent hurdles. She did and he did too , but the doubt of his giddy mind swamped his heart with the quagmire of qualm, till their love was swallowed in it! Now, to Vividha its an enlightenment of the truth he didn't love her enough, to smite his misgivings about her love for him. It's like not just facing the darkness of her anger at his deed, but fury also at herself.. how blinded she was in his love .. she lost the ability to question and foresee.. even though he had said we'll walk together as far as we can.. perhaps he never meant eternally.. perhaps he was the realist in their love and she the idealist. Yet she defends herself with a tear or two in her eyes.. she blames the many triumphs they both scored in their love over unfortunate circumstance... that brings her now to the stage of life where she doubts his return too.
A wave of concern in a poignant situation often draws ill-wishers to sit on the fence and derive pleasure. Foreboding words from Kalindi like the marriage is off! Contrast with Sujata and Ravish's optimism that Atharv will come. Ravish's word suggests waiting. While Sujata's ring of approaching doom. Yet Vividha knows that Atharv will not return..that's how well she knows him..he had mentioned we'll walk together as far as we can... but those moments she now faces, where instances of love when everything seems fixed, final and forever..doubt wormed in and the forever love now turns into this provisional waiting for the groom to return. Despite voices around her giving hope, Vividha has a piece of breaking news for all!
Atharv too receives breaking news the shadow of death passes over him and life once again grants him the opportune moment where he still has the time to correct all the wrongs he inflicted upon his beloved Vividha. Now nothing remains, but to fly like the wind and end once for all the delay of uniting with her till eternity. But the tension in their story takes place yet again.
For Vividha the wait for Atharva is beyond the level of her stamina. Enough of being taken for granted! Yes she is irate with him for being a lying toad, a cheat and a liar.. but to me Vividha rage is not just for Atharv its is also for herself for being, so utterly nave, so hopelessly gullible, and so madly in love with Atharv..the truth has made her free! She trusted him blindly and I'ts him who betrayed her trust. Never did she lie to him, but he withheld the truth, the real reason of his refusal to marry her..funny but even now Vividha does not know..it's a well kept secret..
Seeing that he will not return.. and she is still a bride ready to be married off.. Vividha single handedly makes the decision that she will give credence and value to the man who always stood by her from the day she first married him! Ravish ! would he accept the hand of a friend in marriage? After some reluctances and some subdued joy from his mother Suman, Ravish does give his consent to Vividha.. she even gives him her sincere assurance that as of now.. he will never see tears of sorrow in her eyes.. is this then Vividha's way of assuring her yet again husband to be, that she will try to love him and that Atharv is now a name of the past?
But Atharv is very much alive and kicking and heading her way , till providence one more time gives him a bang on the forehead! This bang; the missed calls to Vividha's phone, and Sujata hearing from Atharv ,stopping the ceremony.. and end of episode... Are all ominous of some resounding changes in the story line! So all accidents are not mere acts of misfortune but rather cruelly contrived creations by CV's to frustrate us viewers.. in my view.
Basically the episode, to me is all about how Vividha reacts at being treated by Atharv after all the dilly dallying he actually comes clean by being the absent groom. One sees the women whom Atharv loves dearly suffering. Sujata s suffers and swallows her tears, takes taunts and acidic remarks from Suman who maligns Sujata about both her past and present. Still Atharv's mother stands tall with her head held high for she knows her boy would never even harm a fly without sound reason. The other woman whom Atharv loves.. Vividha protests uncontrollably about the treatment she receives.. for me Vividha's reaction is justified .. I see her more in the light of the modern verses the traditional .She is young modern educated woman, who heralds from deeply traditional roots. Those, that Vividha hangs on too, along with the values she was brought up in. However when it came to marriage.. she felt her consent was never taken into consideration. Hence now with Atharv as being the runner, far as she can make out.. it seems, for Vividha to fight for her right to take her own decision about her marriage. Of recent,it has become a crucial one, for her .. who she marry's.. ? tension.. surrounds the storyline..
