Why do we need to have a bollywood version of everything?

No one... can a BW actor play a piano like Ryan did? Can they sing their own songs? No.

No one. They are not getting the rights for a remake.

If its an inspired story, find a director to direct it first, of Chazelle's calibre. La La Land is his movie from start to finish. There is nobody in Bollywood who can direct it like he did. It is the direction coupled with the cinematography be it the visuals, the incredible wide, single take sequences or the vibrant colours that gives La La Land its novelty. It was shot in cinema scope too.

Take that away and you are not left with much. The story has been told a million times already. The actors are dedicated and give fine performances sure, but its not their movie. Take the epilogue or the opening, the movies finest two moment, it is film-making at its best and that won't have been possible without the director's vision, his ability to make them come alive.

Ranbir and Alia. No one else has the charm and SRK and Kajol are too old to play these roles.
