OS: Raizada Girls
He was so looking forward to seeing his girl this evening. Yes he was going to call her girl and not lady or wife simply because that was the best compliment he could give her right now. Her joy and enthusiasm elevated him from the deepest most horrid corners of gloominess that being chairman of an empire like his could bring with it.
He would lay eyes on her and all his disgruntlement, all his worries, all that exhaustion would wilt away.
It was Friday that meant she had to be home for him when he arrived it was custom and he'd do anything to have her smiling at him as he walked through the door anything and she was well aware of that too.
He switched off his engine, unhooked his Bluetooth from his ear it was so good to be here outside his home. His palace.
Sigh of relief had just gone through him when his phone rang.
It was Khushi.
Hi he said pleased to here her voice after along day.
"Sune could you please leave office a little early if you haven't already.."
"Woh - hamari gari beech raste gharab ho gayi hai aur batche hp ke saath akele hai ..I'm sorry."
She could feel his disappointment over the phone, her voice had been a mix of caution and apology all at once because she knew how difficult his week had been. To be home when he got home today was the only thing he had asked of her in forever and she she'd let him down .
"Okay give the phone to Akaash" he said in a practical tone rather than anything else that was sign of his aloofness on this she knew. He'd advice Aakaash on how to get the car up and running.
...
He walked into the house dropped his blazer on the sofa feeling fatigue run down him but he headed into the kitchen non the less. He excused Hp who had done more hours than his fair share.
There was still a certain tiresome feeling within him, a little annoyance too even what he would do for one of his wifes cups of coffee but then his tired eyes took to the most beautiful of sights. It may not have been the girl he was anticipating but this loveliness was equally as beautiful if not more. His one year old baby girl Aditi, perched on her high chair, with the most cutest of giggles upon seeing her father. Pale skin and rosy cheeks just like Khushi and who wouldn't be in awe of this little bundle of joy especially a father.
He felt stupid for thinking his day had been too stressful to come home and babysit because nothing could have made him feel so loved, so warm and complete like his little daughter did, Khushi was an exception of course but nor was she here nor was it quite the same feeling.
His daughters huge almond eyes so pleased to see him, calling him closer. He walked closer picked her off her high chair and away from the toy she was fidderling with and took her into his arms. He was a natural taking her into the crux of his neck, stroking her back gently he placed a kiss on her strands of wispy hair.
"Hello Princess"
He wasn't so unlucky after all he got even luckier when he felt a slight tug at his trouser leg and he looked down to see yet another little princess.
Correction lioness.'
Of course he couldn't give one little one attention without given the other one some too. Pari however was a little older and that meant she could walk and just about talk but she was clever little child. He concluded that the intelligence definitely came Payal rather than Akaash who needed instructions on how to change a car tire.
Pari looked a lot like Aakash however, she had his eyes and his features but these adorable curly locks which no would could figure who she inherited them from but she was adorable non the less. So Arnav called her his little lioness.
If Aditi was his daughter than Pari was too because little Pari was very fond of her bade papa as was he of her.
He put Aditi down for she looked like she wanted her toy again anyway and then collapsed to his knees to be level with little Pari.
Her green eyes were so striking that was always the first thing that Arnav noticed about his niece and then of course her crazy hair.
His smile came effortlessly and she smiled back but she wasn't done there oh no.
He watched as she cutely with her little hands figured out the top button of his shirt. Arnav was surprised at first and his eyebrow did that surprised thing but then she was too adorable and he simply watched her tackle with is button, somehow she managed to undo it and then pull on his tie and undo that as well. It became apparent to him that this little had learnt a thing or two from her badi ma because these are exactly the things Khushi would do when Arnav walked through the door.
Of course this broadened his smile and when he watched Pari trundle away for a second and tip toe up to the table to reach for a mug and bring it back to him he couldn't believe her intelligence or her affection for him. like khushi would she was offering him coffee.. which was really just tap water with coffee grains she'd mixed in but it was the thought that counted. His eyes were a sugary sort, he took a sigh at how adorable this little one was! And she wasn't done she even pecked him on the cheek too at which laughed.
"I should have married you shouldn't I.." he said with a smile and a sparkle in his eye humoring Pari.
...
Any good parent always supervised the children and of course Arnav was one of those and the advantage of having two lovely little girls was that they were sensible so it was okay for him to have his back to them as he took a fresh pair of clothes out and looked for a towel.
They were good company too. They listened and didn't really answer back much not in the arrogant and annoying way people did anyway.
What do you think I should wear then girls.. he said as he looked into his wardrobe. Doesn't matter its not like your mom his here to judge hey .. he muttered still annoyed about Khushi's absence.
Just as he thinks of Khushi does he get a call from her. Reaching into his pocket he pulls out his phone to see her name on the phone display.
"Here we go tweedle dee and tweedle dum!" he says sarcastically picking up the call.
As expected they were still stuck. Just a tad bit exasperated he deals with it and putting the phone down does he notice that the girls were watching him.
Akaash he's silly ...And your khushi mom she's silly too .. ! he says shaking his head before walking to the bathroom.
...
Whilst in the shower for a couple of minutes ASR he was pretty sure he could hear one of Khushi's stupid Indian songs that meant she was back?
Usually super composed, in control Arnav Singh Raizada was so happy with the thought that he actually wanted to go see if he was right. What was wrong with him he asked himself!
When he did open the washroom door he saw pari had found her way to the radio and the girls were jumping around on the bed to the desi girls song. The apple never would fall far from the tree! Left amused he was.
And so it was now time for evening dinner, still no sign of the other raizadas but Arnav was now quite enjoying the time with the little ones. He was feeding aditi her baby food from a jar whilst pari sat on the other side eating noodles.
Not the night he had planned but it was equally good in a different sort of way. After all dad's and daughters had a chemistry of their own.
He was exhausted though and it was just then that the culprits walked through the door.
"I'm so sorry Arnavji aap .." she said making a cute face and the brother jumped on the band wagon too.
"Yeah sorry bhai.."
They both confessed as they walked in Payal who was feeling unwell had gone upstairs poor thing who could do blame her whilst Aakash walked in to approach Pari who was sat on the other side of Arnav.
Meanwhile Arnav got up to walk his way to Khushi seen as Aditi was done with her food.
"Koi bhi kaam theekh se hota hai tumse" he said as he stopped in front of her.
Khushi nodded with a sigh.. she knew it was just humor but he also looked tired and she felt guilty.
She put her hands to his shirt. .looked into his eyes promising him she would make this up to him.
You missed me ? she asked knowing she could see it in his eyes .. and he nodded.
It was a rather affectionate moment until well Pari had something to say loud enough for everyone to hear.
She was talking to her papa, akaash who had her cradled in his arms now.
"Bade papa said your stupid.." she told her father in her muffled little voice voice. And badi ma too..
it was something to laugh at however Khushi and Akash were a little embarrassed and surprised for a moment.
"What?". Arnav looked around still with Khushi close to him, he wondered why there was silence "my girls are never wrong okay" .. he said making it known that he was forever on their side and the nature of this bought laughter to them all.
Mr Raizada and his girls!
