Family is a common topic in primary grade classes and usually teachers make unit plans for a week. So quite possible it was going on for some days. But the way teacher was dealing with it was very insensitive. Suhana has single parent and without knowing her family background she was asked about her father twice. Children might have emotional breakdown in such cases and teacher should see what assignment is given to the child.
Also in Golu's case he interpreted family meaning in a different way. For him love, care and attention is only given by his BigCha. Instead of including his vision of family teacher scolded him.
It is fiction and they have to show something to bring out the truth but in reality no school should be such insensitive.

That is such a repetitive scene...every assignment is abt family or papa.
And such insensitive teachers..not every kid will have both parents. Why asking explanation from the child. Golu was right...teacher asked to draw family n big Cha is best member of family.
