Govinda-yellow

We have all seen how David Dhawan's son, Varun Dhawan, likes to act like Govinda when he's doing comedy. A lot of the media people has been telling this to Govinda and now, he wants to come back and be the real Govinda, the paisa-vasool entertainer of Bollywood . In an interview with Pune Mirror, Govinda spoke about a lot of things including why he wasn't around and his comeback to films. Apparently, he was really involved in the making of his latest film, Aa Gaya Hero'. One thing about these actors, when their films flopped, they will disown the films. It's the same case with Govinda, which is sad because he was great in these films. Maybe he's better off doing small roles, instead of full-fledged roles.

Govinda on disappearing for so long

I was waiting for the opportune moment to come out and talk. From 2004 to 2009 I was busy with politics and films took a backseat. From 2009 to the present day it's been a long and arduous journey. I did nine odd films, including Partner and Bhagam Bhag, but I was not the hero and my heart was not in these films.

Govinda on why he did Holiday, Kill Dill and Happy Ending

They were for my wife Sunita. There was a phase when only character roles were being offered to me and I tried to duck out of them but Sunita who is more in sync with changing times told me I should choose the best from what I was being offered instead of chasing after imaginary rainbows.

Govinda on convincing his wife to let him be a hero onscreen again

One day I told her I needed to restart my career again and I needed her support. I pointed out that all the other heroes have launched home productions so they can do the kind of work they want to and pleaded with her to give me a chance too. She was apprehensive, asking who'd support me and write scripts for me.

Govinda on how he worked hard to get this movie started

I promised her that I'd work hard and with God's support, I'd be fine. I've cut ribbons to finance my production, written the songs myself and even supervised the action.

Govinda on how Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan copy him

It makes me happy. People are constantly talking about me, copying some of my mannerisms, you can see flashes of Govinda everywhere while the original has gone missing. It's time to bring him to the forefront again

Too much of Govinda these days .. hope he makes a good comeback, otherwise his bitter bullshit is intolerable. Why do people feel entitled to something from others and then get pissed off when they don't get it? Mostly happens to the lazy ones.

I feel bad for him, so much bitterness in him, he always finds one way or another to show his anger towards David Dhawan ..."my heart was not in the films"

He just can't accept that his time was over. In early 90s, he was bigger than the Khans. By late 90s, he was still on even footing. I don't know what happened to him after that.

It's the same case with Sunny Deol. Until 2001, he was pretty much up there with the Khans, but from thereon, he slipped. But Sunny has taken it positively.

What Govinda needs to do is get into supporting roles. He's a brilliant actor. He doesn't have to be the lead. You can still enjoy being in films and play various roles.

Ya Ranveer is sooo in <3 with Govinda!! It's adorable

But I've noticed how RS makes sure to fawn over all the 90s top stars, shrewd, this one is.
