Pinky continues to astound me with her delusions about their non-existent relationship. She had no interest in him other than pitting him against his brothers and was already counting the money to be made from his marriage of convenience. How can Anika ruin or get in-between a relationship that never existed? The mother, who had no issues with him selling himself for a deal in the first place, that didn't believe him when he said it's not his baby, that threatened to set herself on fire to get what she wanted, that is forcing a woman he doesn't want and someone else's baby on him is accusing someone else of ruining their relationship. The heights of delusion. Get real lady, you never had a relationship. He is nothing more than a prize and he has always known it.
This environment gives some insight into why he is so cold and doesn't value relationships other than his brothers. In an environment, where people are only valued when they are of use and easily dismissed when they're not being detached is inescapable. In his dysfunctional family, his emotions are weakness and their emotions are a weapon used to get what they want, which his mother proves time and time again. Look at how conveniently Anika became the cause of all their problems, but the circumstances of her situation are forgotten.
He may not have the best relationship with his family, but he always first them first and in return he is being told that he's no longer the same. Why is he different now because it's Anika? He stepped in because she was being attacked from all corners and doesn't even have memories to defend herself. If the memory loss was real then these people without hesitation would have thrown a defenseless person, who has no one and recalls nothing to the wolves by shipping her off to god knows where. The sad part is that he wasn't the least bit surprised at their behavior, which shows exactly what thinks about them. His reaction was to get her out. This is the man that declares something and so it is no questions asked. He doesn't ask for permission or give explanations to anyone. Leaving at night without informing them was for her sake, not his. His face said it all she betrayed his trust and Shitia wedding is retaliation.
