contrast between love (vandana and Maya) ability to leave someone

There was a dialogue that Maya said
It was something along the lines of this
"Kahin baar hum jissey pyaar karte hai Ussey uski dard ki dawa nahi dey patey"


1) vandana-couldn't give Arjun that medicine because her love was somewhat selfish. She couldn't give herself pain by giving him that medicine. She knew that moving away from Arjun would give her pain, and she didn't want to give herself pain at the cost of Arjun's happiness. She forced herself onto him...

2) Maya- was willing to let Arjun go for his happiness. She feels that her being around him will bring him bad luck. She is ready to give herself pain if that gives Arjun happiness. Her love is selfless, and she doesn't care if she causes herself pain as long as her love is happy with or without her. She doesn't force herself onto him, thinking that it will give him pain...

Today we saw rational side of maya love..
Maya, who was willing to go any length to marry arjun, now herself walks away from him. This shows love has changed her in good direction. You know you have him now but still you let him go knowing you can harm him. This requires strength..epscly for person like maya who has no emotionl support. For her, arjun is her evrythng. And letting go of evrythng os vry difficult..

She is willing to leave him for his happiness even if that brings pain to herself
That wasn't something that vandana was not willing to do, vandana couldn't give herself pain by leaving Arjun and forced herself upon him. Maya on the other hand is willing to give her self pain, and doesn't want to force herself upon him just for her own happiness.
