ever since the promos for the show came out I have been eagerly waiting for the show to start.

I had a feeling that it would not disappoint and I was not disappointed . I have to say that for months the 6;30 time slot of sp has had a show which was beyond negative and stupid and I feel that was very much needed and is gona be really good competition to Udaan.

but back to the episode I truly loved the start of the show. the earthiness and simpleness of it really was beautifully shown.

what I loved about durga was her naughtiness and the fact that she was truly simply a child and that was wat she always wants to be. her dreams are not big, they not developed yet and what she wants to do or be is furthest from her mind. her hiding underneath the. bed and then cheating was so cute it took me to those day when me and my friends should cheat. it was so much fun. the only part I got confused about was the kite part and how durga said that she is calling me. I did not know whether she was referring to a girl or thought of the kite as a girl.

then there was her dad I really loved him in the promo but I was bit disappointed in him in he show. in the promos he looked like he would be more carefree but one could see how he was ridden with the burden of being poor and wanted durga to be more then what he is and that is good. but the problem is that how does one decide what your child should be when thy are so small and they have not realised their own capabilities or what they want to me. what I loved about the running scene is that she love to run it was done so unpretentiously due to the fact that she so naughty and her head is in her head I could imagine her not realising it was a race and just running for the kite.

This episode highlighted what most ppl think one should do aka the job that guarantees u money, power and prestige and then the unknown.

I have to say that durga's extended family didn't do much for me.i liked her mom bt the rest didn't catch my eye.

I hope the show tries not to typical, doesn't turn to negative and does not disappoint fans. so good luck to the show its not bad at all

I agree - a very nice show so far. Much needed among all the supernatural, crime, romance and family dramas. It's good to have a breath of fresh air with Meri Durga. It reminded me of s1 of Veera with the kids. I even paused for a minute to mourn Waseem Sabir who does so well with these types of shows. But the team on board Meri Durga has got it right too.

I love Durga and her friendship with the three boys. The use of old music, exploring the world through the eyes of children, the contrast between Durga's carefree dreams and her immensely burdened father's expectations of her future, the parallels in the episodes where both Durga and her father have their own "missions" to accomplish...it's all well done.

As for the rest of the family... in any show they always have to include a selfish family vs selfless family angle and here too it's the same. The scene with the brothers on the rooftop where the younger one breaks down and secretly gives his elder brother money and the elder brother takes it gave me *some* hopes... Also very interesting that their mother is intentionally withholding a "batwaara" because she knows if it happens the elder brother's family will not make enough money for food on the table.

What's the bua's angle... why was she so intent on getting Durga to her city? I like her daughter though - she seems to enjoy the company of her cousins.
