Is Durga dyslexic? I wondered after watching the scene where the math equations merger and took a form of a mocking devil. The movie had a similar scene.

I haven't seen TZP (I really should I know), but I think it's a bit early to tell if she's dyslexic or whether her interests just don't align with academics.

If we look only from the pov of the story direction:

The first ep indicated that she will be "scouted" for her speed at racing whereas if the focus was on her overcoming dyslexia there would have been indications of some benign teacher depicted who is meant to help her on that matter...ofcourse that could still happen, very early days. But my guess is the person who will be interested in getting her into racing will be involved in teaching her discipline and focus - something that may end up helping her with academics as well
Also would the script go for two disorders, since her elder sister is suffering from seizures?

What do you think?

no i dnt think so. i think they normally just have a problem with words and letters coz its upside to them
plus i think i have seen her read. i think her problem is that she is a bit weak in her studies and extremely playful and she cnt concentrate.

I am still a little unsure of what to think of Durga. I first thought she did not have enough brains to learn, then thought it was ADD (attention deficit disorder) type and then this TZP type scene popped-up.

Her sister's seizure made me think may be they are going to go some brain disorder direction - same disorder in both sister but with different symptoms.

I am hoping they don't go sports-focus type show. Too many movies like that these days.

@bold - that is what I thought until that scene came up. 😊

Yes I specifically remember two instances of her reading:

1. Exam paper questions - she had no issues comprehending the questions, it's just that her answers were 'silly'/'funny'
2. Those nights when she was trying to memorise equations from a book

She also had no issues writing out her name on the desk - but then that's very basic so we can't guess at her ability to write based on that

I wondered about ADD too from the multiple attempts at avoiding the "patudi". No other scenes come to mind yet to add to this theory. On the other hand we did have that scene where she was studying all night with determination in her daadi's room so maybe not...

On another note, I felt so bad for her when she was on the manja in the courtyard trying to study and her mean cousins were intent on distracting her :(

Hmmm could be that they are going for both sisters suffering from some disorder... let's see

Yeah I hope the focus is not *just* on sports but from the contrast between Durga's in-born talent and her father's dreams for her future career I'm guessing the conflict will be in him learning over time that there's not just one pathway to success in life.

This does point to some learning disability or inability - They can go any direction - dyslexia, or ADD or something else..
