It meant to be a mixed year for the India Cricket team.New players marked their presence,many did not get a chance and lots of things..Here is a look back at it!!

1st Odi-21st Jan
India won the match and Sachin Tendulkar was adjudjed the Man Of The Match..
2nd ODI-24th Jan
India won the match by 20 runs.India scored 189/10 in 48.2 overs..But West Indies fell short of this score and scored 169/10 in 48.2 overs.Dinesh Karthik was adjudjed the Man Of The Match..
3rd ODI-27 Jan
West Indies got out of the corner and won the match by 2 wickets.India scoring first and scored 268/10 in 48 overs.West Indies scored 270/8 in 43.4 overs.Marlon Samuels was adjudjed Man Of The Match..
4th ODI-31 Jan
India won the match preety easliy by 160 runs.They scored 341/3 in 50 overs.West Indies falling short of the target n scoring 181/10 in 41 overs.Sachin Tendulkar was declared the Man Of The Match..
India giving good signs and won the series 3-1.Sachin Tendulkar was declared the Man Of The Series..
= => The next series was against Sri Lanka who was in a very good form.India had to give good signs to tell the world that they are also in a good form to play World Cup 2007.Here is a Review of the series...
1st ODI-8 Feb..
No result was possible due to rain..Not even one ball was bowled..
2nd ODI-11 Feb
Sri Lanka won the match with a lot of hard work due to some good batting from Indians.They won the match by just 5 runs.Sri Lanka scored 257/8 in 50 overs and India falling short of the target and scored 252/9 in 50 overs.Kumar Sangakarra was the sar of the day and was adjudjed the Man Of The Match.
2nd ODI-14 Feb
While the whole country was celebrating teh Valentines's Day ans expected Indian Team to give them a gift.India succeeded in it and won the matvh by 5 wickets.Sri Lanka scored 230/8 in 50 overs.India reaching the target preety easily n scored 234/5 in 46.3 overs.Zaheer Khan was adjudjed teh Man Of The Match.
4th ODI-17th Feb
India won the match quite easily by 7 wickets.Sri Lanka scored 257/7 in 50 overs while India scored 262/3 in 50 overs.Sri Lanka's Chamara Silva was adjudjed the Man Of The Match.
==> The ICC Criket Wolrd Cup 2007 kicked off in a very fashionable way.All the Indians having lots of expectations from their team.
India vs Bangladesh-17 Mar
Bangladesh giving a shock to every one by winning the match.No one expected them to come so hard at the Indians.Not giving any chance to them.India could only score 191/10 in 48.3 overs.Bangladesh getting to their target very easily and scored 192/5 in 49.3 overs.Bangladesh winning the match by 5 wickets.
India vs Bermuda-19 march
India made a record on that day by becoming the first team to score 400+ score in the match.India won the match very easily and scored 413/5 in 50 overs.Where as Bermuda could only score 156 in 43.1 overs.
India vs Sri Lanka
A do or die match for India if they wanted to stay in the tornament.But maybe they could not take the presssure and lost the match.Sri Lanka scored 256/6 in 50 overs.India could not reach near to teh target and the hole team could only score 185 in 43.3 overs.India was out of the World Cup due to this loose.
= => All knew what was ahead.First India Loosing to Bangladesh n then to Sri Lanka n getting out of the
2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.Surely not the way Indians really wanted it to be.Maybe underestimating the Bangladeshi team was one of the biggest mistake the Indians would never regret.In Jharkhand Mahendra Singh Dhoni's house was given extra
protection due the people's reaction who wanted to break his under construction house.Surely there was some anger in them.The biggest question that came out was whether the Big 3 be able survive now due to such a loose or not.Is their carrer ended now.
==> India vs Bangladesh was a fresh series for the Indians.They had to proove that Bangladesh's win against India in the World Cup was just a fluke.Let's see what happened.
1st ODI-10 May
This ODI was one of the most closest and good for the sake of cricket match ever seen.Lots of things happened.But in the end India won the match not very easily by 5 wickets.Some bad and excellent batting from the Indians was seen.Bangladesh scored 250/7 and India scored 253/5.Mahendra Singh Dhoni was declared the Man Of The Macth because of his brilliant 93* despite his injury and performance under pressure.
2nd ODI-12 May
India won this match as well by 46 runs.India scored 284/8 and Bangldesh found themselves to fall short of the target and scored 238/9.Gautam Gambhir was the Man Of The Match for his power packed 101 runs.
3rd ODI-15 May
The match was washed out thanx to the rain but India won teh series comfortably by 2-0.Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the Man Of The Series for his match winning 93* in the 1st ODI and 37 in teh 2nd ODI.
1st Test-22 May
The match wad drawn an India scored 387-8 dec & 100-6 and Bangladesh 238 & 104-2.
2nd test-29 May
India won the macth.At the end of Dy 5 the score was India 610-3 and Bangladesh 118 & 253.Zaheer Khan proving to be the star of the macth.India won the series 1-0.
= => The next match was against Ireland.Here is a look at it.
India won the match comfortably by 9 wickets.The Duckworth Lewis method helping the Indians.Iraland scored 191 and India scored 173/1 in 35 overs.
= => India vs South Africa started.Worries for the India team as Mahendra singh Dhoni was down with fever. Other Players as well not well.Here are the results..
1st ODI-26 June
South Africa won the match by just 3 runs.This loose left the Indians with a lot of thinking.Obviously they wanted to win this series to show the South Africans and take their revenge of the 4-0 loose against South Africa in South Africa itself.South Africa scored 245/6 in 50 overs and India falling short scoring 242/8 in 50 overs.Sachin Tendulkar was the Man Of The Match.
2nd ODI-30 June
Surely Indians didn't want to loose the series.So they came back strongly and won the match.by 6 wickets. South Africa scored 226/6 in 50 overs and India replied with 227/4 in 49 overs.Kallies was the Man Of The Match.
3rd ODI-2nd July
Well the Indians succeeded in saving the previous match and 3rd ODI was left as the decider.Everything goin in the Indians favour as they won the match by 6 wickets. South Africa scored 148/7 and India scored 152/4.Yuvraj Singh was the star of the day.India won the series by 2-1.
= => The series aganist England being one of the biggest series.The results not really making any one sad.Here is a look at it..
1st Test-23 July
England 298 & 282 drew with India 201 & 282/9.Bad weather and Mahendra Singh Dhoni saving the India at the end of day 5.Mahendra Singh Dhoni hung there for a very long time scoring 76 and made sure that India didn't loose the match.
2nd Test-31 July
Well this time it was India's turn.India 481 & 73-3 beat England 198 & 355 by 7 wickets.
3rd Test-13 Aug
England 345 & 369/6 drew with India 664 & 180-6 dec.This result in tests was seen after 21 years.
The absence of Andrew Flintoff in teh tests was a big factor.But nt for a very long time.Thankfully for teh English Andrew Flintoff was fit for the ODIs.Rahul Dravid had to say that Andrew Flintoff is half the English team.
India vs Scotland-16 Aug
Well this was just a break for the Indians.as India bt Scotland by 7 wickets(D/L method).Gautam Gambhir was the Man Of The Match.
Now back to India vs England ODI series.Here it is..
1st ODI-21 Aug
England bt India very easily by 104 runs.England scored 288/2 in 50 overs and India could only score 184.Ian Bell doing the damage for the Indians scoring his maidan century.He was the Man Of The Match.
2nd ODI-24 Aug
Previous loose was a bad one but India came back strong and beat England by 9 runs.India scored 329/7 in 50 overs and England falling short could only score 320/9 in 50 overs.Sachin Tendulakar was the Man Of The Match.
3rd ODI-27 Aug
Well England came back strongly in this match and won it by 42 runs.England scored 281/8 in 50 overs but India could not take the target and scored 239 in 50 overs.Again Ian Bell proving to be a key factor and becoming the Man Of The Match.
4th ODI-30 Aug
England may be got angry beacuse of that test loose and won this match as well by 3 wickets.India scored 212 in 5o overs and England scored 213/7 in 48 overs.The promising youngster Stuart Broad becoming the Man Of The Match for an allround performance.
5th ODI-2 Sep
This day proved to be in India's and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's favour.As India won the match by 38 runs(D/L method).India scored 324/6 in 50 overs and England scored 242/8 in 39 overs.Mahednra Singh Dhoni equalled the world record for maximum dismissals with six in the innings - 5 catches and 1 stumping. Man Of The Match was Sachin Tendulkar.
6th ODI-5 Sep
India won the match.
7th ODI-8 Sep
England's day I suppose as England won the macth very very very easily.England scored 188-3 in just 36.2 overs to India's reply of 187 in 47.3 overs.Kevin Pieterson was the Man Of The Match.England won the series 4-3.
= => The next was the baby cricket.The Twenty20 World Cup. Lets see what happened...

The match was abandoned due to rain.No play was possible.
India vs Pakistan-14 Sep
This match is known to be the most interesting match.India has never been beaten by Pakistan in a World Cup match and India maintained it.India won the match by Bowl-out.India scored 141/9 in 20 overs and Pakistan also scored the same 141/7 in 20 overs.So India won the match by Bowl-out 3-0.Thanx to Virendre Sehway,Harbhajjan Singh and the promising youngster Robin Uthappa.Mohammad Asig was the Man Of The Match.
India vs New Zealand-16 Sep
India definately wanted to win this match but unfortunately coudn't.New Zealand scored 190/10 in 20 overs and India fell short by 10 runs and scored 180/9 in 20 overs.The New Zealand captain,Daniel Vettori was the Man Of The Match.
India vs England-19 Sep
If India wanted to qualify they had to win the match and luckily they did.India won the match by 18 runs.India piled up the score to 218/4 in 20 overs.Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in an over which was a record and am sure every one enjoyed it.But these 6 sixes in an over was a big pressure for the England team and feel short of the score.They scored 200/6 in 20 overs.Yuvraj Singh had to be the Man Of The Match.
India vs South Africa-20 Sep
India getting so far surely wanted to qualify for the semifinals.India won the match by 37 runs.And did not even let South Africa qualify.India scored 153/5 in 20 overs.South Africa falling short and scored 116/9 in 20 overs.People of Mumbai surely got something to cheer about but not beacouse of Sachin Tendulakar beacouse of the new young promising talent from Rohit Sharma who was awarded his first Man Of The Match in International Cricket.
India vs Australia-22 Sep
No one expected India to reach here.But stil Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team did their best and gave a suprise gift to India by beating Australia by 15 runs.India scored 173/7 in 20 overs and Australia scored 158/5 in 20 overs.Yuvraj Singh was teh Man Of The Match.With this win India was into the final of the Twenty20 World Cup.
India vs Pakistan-24 Sep
The big Final.The Big match for both the nations.Remember India has never been by Pakistan in any World Cup.And believe it or not this record is still there.India Won The Twenty20 World Cup By 5 Runs!!! India scored 157/5 in 20 overs.Pakistan could score 152/10 in 19.3 overs.With this win Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team showed every one that India has got the talent and can not only win matches but also the World Cup without the Big 3....Irfan Pathan was the Man Of The Match and Shahid Afridi the Man Of The Tornament.
= => After the England tour and during the T20 WC everyone was busy in deciding abt whether Indian team would reach further in the tournament or not.But there was some one who was preety uncomfortable for some reasons which came out during the T20 WC.Rahul Dravid despite of some gud wins under his captaincy decided to leave captaincy saying that he wanted to concentrate on his batting because captaincy was a thing he
could not handle.This way BCCI was left under pressure to decide who would it be who would captain indians.Mahendra Singh Dhoni getting lucky and was given the ODI captaincy due his good captaincy in T20 WC.But there was still a question that who would captain the Indians in the test.
= => India got into the final of the Twenty20 World Cup by beating Australia.This thing surely hurt the Australians a lot.So they defiantely wanted to take their revenge in this series.Lets see what happened.
1st ODI-29 Sep
This ODI was washed out due to rain.But this time rain helped India a lot because after Autralins won the toss they pilled up the score above 300.The score was 307/5 in 50 overs.Michael Clarke being the damager for the Indians and scored 100+ score.
2nd ODI-2 Oct
The previous match was an escape for the Indians but there was no use as Australia won this match by 84 runs.Rain was definately missed this time.BJ Haddin was the Man Of The Match.
3rd ODI-5 Oct
Australia definately didn't want to loose this match and they didn't.They won this match as well by 47 runs.Andrew Symonds was teh Man Of The Match.
4th ODI-8 Oct
India had to do something to remain in the series and they did.They atleast won this match by 8 runs.India scored 291/4 in 50 overs.Australia falling short of the target and scored 283/7 in 50 overs.The Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni doing the work for the Indians and was Man Of The Match.
5th ODI-11 Oct
Australians surely knew that this had to be the decider and damaged India's batting line up and let them score only 148 in 39.4 overs.Australia got to their target very easily by scoring 149 and loosing just 1 wicket in only 25 overs.MG Jhonson doing teh damage for the Indians and was the Man Of The Match.Surely every one agreed with Mahendra Singh Dhoni that except toss nothing went in India's favour.
6th ODI-14 Oct
With their last win Autralia could not be beaten in this series atleast but every one wanted India to atleast not loose the match.But maybe they could not take the pressure and lost the match by just 16 runs.Australia scored 317/8 in 50 overs.India falling short and could score 299/7 in 50 overs.Andrew Symond was the man of the match.]
7th ODI-17 Oct
Australia won the series but India had to win this match atleast.They won the match by 2 wickets.Australia scored only 193/10 in 41.3 overs.India reaching the target by scoring 195/8 in 46 overs.Murli Karthik becoming the Man Of The Match by getting 6 wickets which is now a world record by any left arm seamer in the history of the game.Australia won the series by 4-2.India playing good cricket.Andrew Symonds was the Man Of The Series.

Twenty20 match-20 Oct
Every one believed that The Twenty20 World Cup win was just a fluke.But to prove thsi wrong India had to win this match and not only show the whole of the nation but also Ricky Ponting.India won the match very very easily by 7 wickets.Australia scored 166/5 in 20 overs.India reaching their target preety easily by scoring 167/3 in 18.1 overs.Gautam Gambhir was the Man Of The Match.
==> Believe it or not but Rahul Dravid was not selected for the ODI series against Pakistan.This desicion created a lot of conrtoversies in India.
= => India winning the World Cup was surely a thing which every one wanted.After Kapil Dev, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was a big man in the nation.But there some people who were quite hurt.The Pakistani team surely wanted to take their revenge.Lets did they succeed in it or not...

1st ODI-6 Nov
India also didn't want to give the Pakistanis any chance and this Pakistani team was known to be the weakest of all the Pakistani team.But India had to do something extraordinary and they did.India won the match 5 wickets.Pakistan scored 239/6 in 50 overs.India reaching the target and scored 242/5 in 47 overs.The Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni becoming the Man Of The Match.
2nd ODI-8 Nov
Pakistan had to win this match to not let pressure come on them.They did win the match by 4 wickets.India scored 321/9 in 50 overs.Pakistan reached the target and scored 322/6 in 49.5 overs.Younus Khan was the Man Of The Match.
3rd ODI-11 Nov
India-Pakistan series are always special.But India was also here to win.They won this match by 46 runs.Salman Butt's heroic century went in vain.India scored 294/6 in 50 overs as Pakistena fell short and score 248 in 47.2 overs. Yuvraj Singh was delcared the Man Of The Match.
4th ODI-15 Nov
Indians were in a mood to win this series for sure.They won this match by 6 wickets.Pakistan scored 255/6 in 50 overs.India 260/4 in 46.3 overs.Sachin Tendulkar was the Man Of The Match.
5th ODI-18 Nov
With India winning the series it was a chance for the Pakistanis and for the new comers as well as Rohit Sharma and Praveen Kumar make their debut in the International Cricket in ODI.This was surely a Chance for them.India lost the match by 31 runs.But that didn't really matter the Indians as there was a positive sign for the Indians in the from of Rohit Sharma as he marked his presence in the International Cricket with a 50+ on his debut.Pakistan scored 306/6 in 50 overs and India fell short scored 275/10 in 49.5 overs.Pakistani captian was delcared the Man Of The Match.India won the series 3-2 and Yuvraj Singh was the Man Of The Series.
==>After Rahul Dravid left the captaincy there were lots of questions in the nation.BCCI answering one of the question that was the captain of the ODI team which was then given to the young talent Mahendra Singh Dhoni.But who would captain the Indians in the test team.A very obvious choice was Mahendra Singh Dhoni.But the selecters had their own plans.In the end Anil Kumble getting lucky and was given the test captaincy.
1st Test-26 Nov
India won the ODI series but Pakistan had to win this Test series.But the starting was not good for them as India 276 & 171-3 beat Pakistan 231 & 247 by 6 wickets.
2nd Test-3 Dec
This test started on a very bad note for the Pakistanis as captain Shoaib Malik found himself unfit for the test.But Pakistan had to atleast draw to stay alive in the series.That did happen as India 616-5(dec) & 184-4(dec) drew with Pakistan 456 & 214-4.
3rd Test-9 Dec
A do or die situation for the Pakistani as to stop Indians from winning this match they had to win this match.But they couldn't as India 626 & 132-2 drew with Pakistan 537.India won the series 1-0.
= => But something else was there.Except the captaincy probe there were other problems going on in the BCCI.That was the Dilip Vengsarkar row probe.Dilip Vengsarkar wants to leave the BCCI but then the problem is who is going to be the chairman of selectors.BCCI then acting very clever
and it was delayed,but there is still the question on whether Dilip Vengsarkar would leave BCCI or not...
Overall I believe it to be a good year for the Indian team.Surely Young Guys are doing the work for India.Mahendra Singh Dhoni,Yuvraj Singh,Robin Uthappa and Rohit Sharma proving to be very resposnsible for the future.
