Why was her bollywood career so short?

I was watching kal ho naa ho and I felt Preity is a hugely talented actress.Kal ho naa ho was the most successful movie of her career.

However, she didn't get much good roles in her career apart from kal ho naa ho,Veer Zaara, Kya kehna and Salaam Namasye.

What could be the reason?

Is it due to tough competition from her contemporaries like Rani,Kareena,etc.,or is it due to her venture into IPL?

Don't u all think her career was short lived?

I think she was around for nearly a decade, so it was not too short. She also had good roles in DCH and Lakshya.

She acted for nearly a decade as someone just stated so her career wasn't neccesarily short lived. She had some successful films in Dil Chahta, Veer Zaara, KHNH, Solider, Veer Zaara, Koi Mil gaya etc... She had her time and acted in some good films, so i would say her career was not short lived at all. Short lived is someone like Manisha Koirala or Urmila Matondkar. Also don't forget heroines have short shelf life in bollywood. She dominated until 2006 and then the younger heroines like DP and Priyanka, Anushka, Sonam came in.

I don't believe in it, but there were rumors that she went in rehab to get over her drug addiction in disguise of a business management course post which she started her IPL venture.

Does PZ looks like drug addict frm any angle😕

A meaty role in Dil Se 1997 which win her a best debut actress and launched her career..till 2008 during which she acted with all the top heroes..did fab roles ..

11 years as an actress in Bollywood is SHORT?😕

People still remember her as this strong bubbly girl. Dil Chahta Hai, LAKSHYA, Salaam Namastey, Veer Zaara, KAL Ho Na Ho, koi Mil Gaya, the film with akshay, it doesn't get better for a bollywood heroine!!! What more you want?

I loved her a lot and was pretty sad when she was done:(
She had a reasonably long n good career but it was cut shorter than it would have otherwise due to the mess with Ness Wadia n her concentration on IPL

@Zeal - that Harvard thing couldn't have been rehab as desi students there were posting star struck encounters with her once in a while I sort of remember that
