HNY, Raees, Kaabil,BOI & fans

BOI website reported had reported 36crores 1st d for HNY but fans kept posting 44.97 crores

Now the same fans say are posting BOI numbers and saying Rakesh Roshan manipulated numbers.

Which gapla is better 9 crores of HNY or 3 crores of Kaabil??

When HNY released BOI had said it made 40cr. Later to make PK look good they reduced the figures and said it was actually 36cr with 4 cr coming from dubbed versions. The producer's figures are 44cr for HNY with 40cr from Hindi and 4cr from dubbed versions. In case of Raees till now BOI hasnt reduced the figures and producer's figures are the same. Hence fans using BOI figures now.

To make PK look good? It is the same BOI which has started Dil Chahta hai series and we all know BOI dislikes Aamir so can't digest it.

I think they love only Salman but now they have new found love for SRK.

They are not reducing Kaabil collections. They are giving correct collections only. HR and his dad are showing more collections. This is an old thing thats been happening since Krrish 3. Everyone is aware of it. If BOI was the problem they would have targeted others too.

Don't know whom to trust. Ultimately who will give hit, flop status? BOI or producers?

We've also been gathering collections from various circuits as well as multiplex chains. The actuals or the truth' lies somewhere in between. The collections are nowhere as low as what's being quoted as the trade number', nor is it as high as what the producers have been quoting.

It's high time for the industry to get an independent credible source, which works with producers, distributors and exhibitors - verifies and reverifies the figures with multiple sources - before putting out the final numbers. Even though it's impossible to release accurate figures on a daily basis, numbers could be put out after the weekend or at the end of the first week.

In a clash like this where ego, perception and reputation built over entire careers are at stake, absolutely anything is possible. There is no source that's holier-than-thou' here. Smart manipulation of figures can happen at every level, even at the exhibitor (theatre) level and those who are willing to shell out money, can get anything done. The smallest of margins can make the good to look excellent and the average to look poor. The game is in the smallest of margins.

Bottom line Indicine doesn't trust Filmkraft or BOI but think "actual" is closer to Filmkrafts number. Why would BOI underreport Kaabils income? ... "those who are willing to shell out money, can get anything done."
