I guess I'm on a posting spree tonight. 😆
So, here it is. I have wanted to analyse and write about her character for quite some time now as I find her to be the most interesting person living in this madhouse!
Who is she? What's her actual name? Has her name been robbed off her too?
More importantly, I want to know what goes on in her mind. Now, if she's one of those run-of-the-mill vamp and I'm simply wasting my time trying to write her down in words, I'll rest my case after this post. If, however, ST manages to surprise me with a complex character, I'm all for it!
At first, she seemed like the kind of woman I just mentioned above. But she's a lot more than that. She never really mistreats her fellow devraanis. She doesn't need to be sweet to them, but she is. Mostly, it's passive-aggressive behaviour, though.
What we see is her warning the new ladies beforehand, which becomes useful for their survival. But is she really warning them? Does it not seem like she's making sure the ladies remain in their boundaries by using fear as a weapon?
She is docile and submissive outside but fearless inside. Fearless and manipulative. Look at the level of influence she has over her MIL. Does it not look suspicious?
Gulguli listens to no one apart from her husband and her sons (the mards of the family, in short), and the only woman she listens to is Maldawali. The latter knows what to say to her and how. She knows when to rile her up and when to calm her down.
Furthermore, I also have reasons to suspect that she's the one who turned Manmeet into a drug/alcohol/whatever addict. Remember her whispering in his ear about how he can get a new wife but he might not get a fill of his substance.
Scientifically speaking, high dosages of opium and vodka can render a man impotent. Now, I don't know exactly what he is addicted to, but we can safely assume that she wants him out of the way.
And when I say out of the way, I mean out of the running from sitting on the throne of Berahampur. She wants it for her husband. Her husband wants it for himself.
Today's episode answered a lot of questions.
I don't know how long they've been married, but I can bet on anything that their conjugal life is pretty much nonexistent.
"Pehle humein ek aurat hone ka sukh toh dijiye."
Very possibly, she wants a child from him and he looked regretful/distraught. So, is he impotent? He surely has a medical condition where he gets breathing problems. Could it be a heart condition? A hole in the heart? Or Asthma?
Once again, putting science in perspective, a hole in the heart might or might not restrict a person to pursue a few things in his/her day-to-day life. But then I'm no doctor, so I can't really confirm this.
Maldawali is also an insecure woman. And her insecurity majorly stems from Veer's capacities compared to Jageer's inadequacies.
My guess is that Manmeet was the weakest link of the three brothers, hence easily manipulated into becoming an addict.
I also want to know if the family knows about Jageer. Why else would they announce Veer as the heir when he has two brothers before him? Let's take Manmeet out of equation as he's pretty useless. Usually in a patriarchal family like this, a man is counted on his ability to procreate. So is Jageer not capable of that either?
I have a feeling the answer is yes.
Which puts the responsibility of producing an heir on Veer. Now, what I want to see is if this show will take a turn like the show "Vaidehi" (which aired on Sony long ago) or, say, the whole Vichitravirya-Ambalika-Ved Vyas equation?
Let's see...
