I don't think there is anything deeper to read when Dev mocks Sonakshi's success. Whether start up lasts or doesn't last is none of Dev's concern. For that matter, mature telecom companies also go bankrupt. A couple of defective product that explodes followed by unpredictable user behaviour and they will suffer the same fate as Blackberry. But no one mocks his success or ridicules his achievements.

Even today when the agent said that Dev Dixit sold the building, Sonakshi was surprised because she knows Dev is a good business man. She never once put his success and achievements down. She might have complaint on his personal weaknesses but that didn't take away from professional decency.

Dev on the other hand, by mocking Sonakshi's achievements and calling it temporary is not showing even the same respect he gets for being a self-made man.

Sorry there is no deeper meaning there except him being jealous of Sonakshi's success.

The episode was interesting as a stand-alone except its hilarious how they were away from each other for 7 long years and now suddenly the kids in both the households study in the same school, the leads will now work in the same office and after a few immature fights, they will suddenly end up under the same roof 😆 Am excited to see Vicky and Sona work in the same office cos she has already given it back to Dev several times even pre-leap but am looking forward to see her trash Vicky and his mom if possible.Putting Ishwari in place will be the crowning glory 😆

After reading Shaavi's post my original interpretations of this scene changed a bit

First he looks accusingly at Easwari after announcing Sonakshi Bose was the owner..almost accusing her to be the root of all this happening

Next when she walks into his room even before she opens her mouth he knew she wanted to speak about Sonakshi and shuts her up

When she insists that Sona would have acquired the office at a cheap price his body language changes..he moves far away from Easwari and almost defensively says no she bought it at market price

Next when Easwari acts surprised that Sona had that much money..his ego kicks in and he says Start ups dont last long

Here he had a mixture of being proud of Sona and struggling with his Ego

I like what you wrote he is trying to get a reaction from Sona and failing to and so he will try more antics too..hope Sona does not give in that easily
