From "Mera Naam Cheen" to "Laila" remix, from Kuku to Sunny Bollywood has come long way in depicting that one song that brings whistle to the lips of moviegoers.

Even female actors like Madhuri, Katrina and Kareena have not been exempted from its lure. Case in point: "Gaagra" (YJHD), "Chikni Chameli" (Agneepath) and weirdly titled "Fevicol" (Dabaabg 2).

What makes item song so popular attraction? And which according to you is perfect example of Item Song.

Perfect item song is chikni chameli for it facilitates the story .

Sheila ki jawani is good as per dance but it adds no value to movie . Same gors for lovely .

Priyanka chopra item songs have been the worst though of the A list actresses

Item songs/ dances are okay as long as they dont have vulgar lyrics or vulgar dance moves.

Like for example, Main toh tandoori murgi hoon yaar, .disgusting lyrics in Fevicol song...🤢

Kat's item dances are usually good, shes a really good dancer.

Like Kiss me kiss me, was really good.

I like item songs :D ..but light-hearted ones like Gaagra, Luv Letter, Fevicol, Munni Badnam, Jallah Wallah, Kajra re, No Entry, Character Dheela, Dhanno, Mujhe tumse mohabbat hai(old one)...

I never liked any Katrina's item except Do Dhari Talwari... she's a good dancer but I mean the songs..

some old ones were very very good though like --- Koi Jaaye toh le aaye, Ek do teen, Choli ke peeche, Badi Mushkil, Humko aaj kal hai, saat samandar..!

But Asha Bhonsle's cabaret songs were best - although awfully hilarious to watch, but to listen they are so good - Piya Tu, Jawane Jaaneman, AAYIYE MEHERBAAN :D , Yeh mera dil(old and new), Oh Haseena zulfon wali, Aaa jane jaan, Aao huzoor tumko sitaron pe le chalun(is it cabaret?)

...reminded of Babuji dheere chalna, old one..

What is a perfect item song.. songs with no creepy vibe and no trashy music, for me atleast..

..early 2000 item songs were tooo... adult-like(?) but good to listen to..

Not a fan of item songs. Some fit in well with the story flow but many are simply inserted.

Lyrics should not be vulgar.

Old ones like Laila and Monica were very good, Aisa jadoo from Khakee is the only 1 item song I probably liked from the new lot.

I don't like dance songs in the movies period. Item ya anything. Songs played in back ground showing story progression I can tolerate but other than that blah.
