Vividha, the real victim.

Following the contrasting views of people calling Ravish or Atharv the bigger victim I want to talk about the person who has actually lost everything in this, Vividha. The girl who hasn't said a single word about her suffering, the girl who has taken everything in her stride and made decisions to make the best out of the situations that were presented to her. The girl who deserved better than public humiliation for ending her marriage.

Ravish treated Vividha as a possession, pure and simple. She never belonged' to him, so here Atharv have her back. He removed her jewellery, wiped her sindoor and put her hand in Atharv's, giving great big dialogues telling Atharv about ViTharv's love, something I'm sure Atharv understands way better than Ravish ever could. In front of the whole family he decides to do this handing over' process, without an ounce of respect for her, and with a smug smile I would happily punch off his face. I also didn't like the radio silence as Atharv just watched the events unfold in front of him, but I'm not sure what I wanted him to do.

The worst part about this scene wasn't what happened, rather that he didn't give Vividha or Atharv the opportunity to speak. Through his actions he made Vividha feel as if she had committed a sin. You could see it in her expressions, she lost respect for herself through this process. As a final nail in the coffin she lost herself. She lost her father, her sister, the man she loves, her dreams, everything - and finally she lost her sense of self-worth. She has done nothing but be proud of her love, and the same man who is her soul threw accusations at her in anger. The man who understands her more than anyone misunderstood her. The right to choice is a human right, her choice was against this marriage and she was well within her rights to end it on her terms, and Ravish once again took her right from her in the interests of being mahaan'. Vividha should not be shamed' or disgraced for wanting to get out of a forced marriage, she should have the confidence to hand over the mangalsutra to him herself, but he, Kailash and the Vashishts + Sujata have chipped away and destroyed the self-confidence she had.

ViTharv have a hurdle, a massive hurdle they have to overcome now. We saw hints of it at the end of that infuriating scene, Atharv saw she wasn't happy. Ravish may have told her she's free now but she feels weighed down by guilt and the expectations society had of her, and Atharv isn't reassuring her that she was right. She is a strong character, she follows her heart and Atharv helped bring these qualities out of her. But now he faces a new challenge, he has to conquer his anger at what he's lost but also understand Vividha's sentiments. He has to talk to her, he has to rebuild that trust. There was a hint of it in the precap, where he's trying to return to normalcy by giving her the leaves for the pooja and sees Vividha stop herself before applying the sindoor. They can't ignore the elephant in the room, they have to conquer it together.

I love your post so much Sia, I'm just really appalled. You know what I feel about it all and yes Vividha is the biggest victim here by a significant distance!

I'll never get over what happened today.

The ONLY victim here is Vividha.
I can't believe some of the posts written about her. How can people not sympathise with what she went through yet see the pain of Atharv and Ravish. It baffles me!

I love u r post. Agree with each word here.
Everyone succeeded in killing a lively girl that was vividha. She is just lost. Gone.

God knows what it takes to bring her back.

At this point, how is Atharv better than any of them?
Silence is collusion too.

The one time in over 250 episodes when he shouldn't have been silent, he was.

As if this damage can ever be undone.

This is a really good exploration of Vividha's pain and hurt. If only more people could see her from your point of view.

I won't even talk about the humiliation because it just appalled me. It really reinforced to me that alongside everyone else, her Pati Parmeshwar also represents society and conformity. He was supposed to be depicted as this great and sacrificial character today however it skipped over my head and just exposed him as being regressive and backwards.

It seems that Vivi is dejected, she has been left alone. I imagine from her point of view now, there is little hope. She has got Atharv back but even he was accusing her. There is little left of her, she has become a walking talking body, with all the life sucked out of her by the evils of others.

I can't wait to see how the re-establishment of ViTharvs relationship is portrayed. I do hope they'll do justice to it because they have always been very careful with their love story. it will be interesting to see how Atharv picks up on her lack of self confidence now and helps her to restore it like he did in the past.

EXACTLY. People are quick to call her characterless and whatever else. A woman will always blame a woman or have a problem with what she does. I can't even defend Atharv today because that was WRONG.

Bringing back her happiness and her dreams... Atharv has to redeem himself. He has to give her confidence and make her see that she wasn't wrong. He has to empower her to regain her belief in herself.
