I am new to this forum have written in one other forum
The title of this show is a fascinating one. It is just not Swabhimaan but a Shringaar Swabhimaan

It is interesting that they have used the additional word in here. Swabhimaan by itself is self respect but sometimes there is a very thin line between Self Respect and Ego.

When Self respect is not driven by Ego it is beautiful

I think the makers have just set the stage now

Meghna and Naina - Two beautiful girls, strong , independent and absolutely adore their mother .

Sharda a mother who is teaching hr daughters that Swabhimaan is important in life

Now comes the interpretation of it by Meghna she wants to uphold her mothers self respect no matter what, listens to what she is saying, following it but not understanding the real meaning yet

Naina loves her mother wants to hold her Mothers Swabhimaan she does it by not blindly following her mothers words but giving it thought and putting it into action

Enter two other characters
Kunal who seems sorted, seems to love Meghna..but his Dad is a very powerful influence on him

Karan- Almost seems like a neglected child , he seems to not have a very good relationship with his Dad..but his actions speak louder than words

What happens when Meghna whose mothers swabhimaan is the most important comes in contact with Kunal whose Dad's words seem more important?. And Karan who believes in action speaks louder than words comes together with Naina who believes in action upholding her Mothers Swabhimaan remains to be seen.

Thoughts?

The title of the the show certainly an interesting one.Self respect- something so essential but one that is misunderstood as ego many a times .It is also something which is not given the importance it needs to be given a lot of times. Then comes the thin line between self respect and ego. When the line is crossed, the self respect which was once admirable & an adornment becomes ugly So as far as the concept goes,it seems to be one with lot of potential.Self respect is rarely given importance on Indian Tv and even if the concept is introduced,it usually ends up being shown in a warped sense. Let's see how the writers choose to show it through this show.
As you know, I am yet to catch up on the episodes , can't really comment on the characters yet.

Awesome post. That's something, I guess we will discover as the show progresses. The concept is great and you are correct. There is a fine line between Swabhimaan and Abhimaan.
I'm glad for this concept. Something fresh and different.

You have brought out the four characters beautifully. I wonder where Meghna will be when she finds that her sister does not share her quest for vengeance. Karan is the practical guy. If he had been in Kunal's place, he would have figured out the financial strain this marriage was causing on Shardha. Sadly Kunal seems to be oblivious to this.
