The clock kept ticking and blood kept dripping from his bruised lips. Cole sat there uninterested and without a regret, listening to Principle Barker's lecture.

"Is this what your parents are wasting their money on?!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. "First you got yourself kicked out of St. Noir for throwing a desk at your homeroom teacher... and now you're here... breaking people's nose!?" she accused him whilst he rolled his eyes.

"They got what they deserved for the shits they were doing."

Ms. Barker straightened up with a stern look, hands on her hips. "I see. So you decided to pound them because they were doing the wrong things...?" He nodded. "Then why in God's name didn't you report it to the school?!" she asked furiously.

"School is bullshit. They never do anything unless there's some profitable benefit."

She sighed heavily. "Cole... not all schools are like Gates. Forget the past and move on..."

Ms. Barker knew of his situation, she understood exactly where Cole stood but it was time to move on from the past and start fresh. It was her idea of getting him into Xavier, after all she couldn't see a dear friend's' son ruin himself.

"It's not as easy as you make it sound." He muttered, looking anywhere but at her.

A small smile crept upon her lips as she got an idea. "Why don't you join a club?" Cole raised an eyebrow. "Ever heard of The Karma Cafe?"

"Karma what?" he said with a weird look.

"It's a club that takes complaints from students and works to solve them... in their peculiar ways. I think you'll enjoy it there."

"What's so special about that club that I'll enjoy it?" Cole asked monotonously.

"Well, in simple words you get to beat up people who deserves it..." she answered slowly.

"What? Is that even allowed in this school?" he asked in disbelief.

Ms. Barker nodded, "Yes, the board of education approved it."

"Such a weird school... and system..." he muttered not so discreetly.

Ms. Barker rolled her eyes. "So you're going to join?

He looked at her trying to figure out what she's thinking but he couldn't put a finger on it. Cole sighed, "I guess it wouldn't hurt..."

"You're such a pig!" Haile hits the back of Elliot's head.

"HEY! Keep your hands off of him!" Tamara, Elliot's current fling intervened.

"He's my friend, I can do whatever I want!" She argued.

While Haile and Tamara go at it for the fourth time, Elliot tries to handle the situation. Meanwhile, Keira and Keith munch on their donuts enjoying the free show.

"They're like children," Keith commented.

"Children who keeps us entertained," Keira added on with a smirk whilst giving her brother a high five.

"Help me!" Elliot cried as Haile and Tamara tried to rip each other's hair out. Keith got up immediately pulling Haile back while Keira does the same with Tamara.

"I swear you two are worse than five year olds," Keira shook her head.

"Sorry Kei," both girls said together.

"Hey, only I get to call her that!" Haile yelled at Tamara.

Tamara rolled her eyes before replying, "You don't have a copyright on that name."

"Say what?!?" before Haile was able to finish, Keira cut in.

"Shut up!" Keira shouted. Both girls stopped immediately as Elliot smirked and Keith rolled his eyes. "Now... we are here to enjoy what this store has to offer and discuss about the new member of the group." She then looked at the girls, "Not to rip each other's hair out over stupid things."

"Agreed," both guys replied.

"So... Cole Jensen... what do we know about him?" Keira asked.

"He's a transfer student. I believe it's been a month he started attending Xavier." Keith answered.

"His name sounds hot," Haile commented going off topic.

"He is hot," Tamara corrected her.

"You met him?" Haile's eyes lit up. Tamara nodded her head and began describing Cole.

The trio looks at them amused. "Just a while ago..." Keira began.

"They were about to..." Elliot added.

"Rip each other's hair off" Keith concluded.

"And now they're all," Keira said once again.

"Buddy buds." Elliot said.

"Girls," the trio sighed in unison.

"Anyways," Keith tried to change the topic. "Despite being in the school for only a month he has gotten himself into four fights."

"How come we never heard about it?" Elliot questioned.

"I guess because no one complained?" Haile tried to figure it out.

"Probably..." Keira replied.

"So why is he joining the club...?" Tamara asks with curiosity.

"Why do you care?!?" Haile snaps.

"I don't. I'm just curious."

"What is she even doing here? She's not even part of the club." Haile scoffed before pulling Elliot closer. "I thought you were going to break it off with her. What happened British boy?"

"Sshh! Can you keep it down! I am trying my best," Elliot whisper yelled. I really am trying, he cried in his thoughts.

"Guys, back to the topic," Keith groaned. "And to answer your question Tamara, Ms. Barker is concerned about him and thinks joining a club would keep him busy thus he won't fight so much."

"But isn't this club formed to fight? How will that keep a notorious boy like him from fighting?" Tamara made a point.

"Technically... this club isn't really formed to fight babe," Elliot answered. "Keira just goes overboard sometimes" he shrugged taking a bite out of his donut.

"Really? And who helps me go overboard?" Keira rolled her eyes. She didn't deny the fact that she goes overboard, everyone including her knows the cold truth of her temper.

"So he's officially part of the club?" Elliot totally ignored Keira's question and tries his best to change the subject. Everyone nodded their head in agreement.

The streets were getting narrow and the moonlight shone a dim silver color.

This town, Cole thought, hasn't changed a bit. He looked around, taking in what he once left behind. I am really back... I can't believe it's been three years... three years till the incident...

Cole's eyes darkened thinking of the past. His jaws clenched as he shook off the thoughts.

Remember a new start, he reminded himself before starting to walk once again. Suddenly his feet stopped moving as he turned left to see a girl standing in middle of a tiny bridge. He could only see the side of her face under the moonlight.

She was looking at something... the water.

But why? Why is she here... alone? Cole questioned.

He walked a bit closer to check if she was okay but soon enough someone else intervened - a guy in a motorcycle. He couldn't hear their conversation but could see what was going on. The guy tried to make a conversation but she insisted on walking away. However, the guy wasn't satisfied with her actions as he caught a grip of her wrist.

Cole stood there watching the scene before deciding to help her out. As he was about to take another step, he witnessed the girl's fist slamming against the guy's nose. The guy shouted profanities, letting her go and holding onto this nose. The girl shook her head and walked away. Cole watched her fade away with the darkness and before he knew it, he found himself smiling.

Finally a damsel who doesn't wait on a knight in shining armor to be saved.
