Hungry eyes

With a cavernous appetite
and hungry eyes,
He walked in hurriedly
to renew past ties.
He looked for love
He sought out peace
His heart was locked and
she held the keys.

She stood there, resplendent
tears in her eyes
He walked to her hurriedly,
With a purposeful stride.
His vision was clear
and memory a blur,
He asked for her hand
Without a slur.

With gentle care he replaced
the tears in her eyes
With feather light kisses
and brilliant stars from the sky.
Her wishes he lined
with butterflies plenty
Her heart now filled
Is no more empty.

Together they stand
against time and tide
Out in the open
running free and wild.
Near wind swept hills
Of yesteryear times
Under a willow tree, sitting
they hear the bells chime.

And the wind whistled a song
the owl tweeted a cry
Under the willow tree
they embraced for long.
With a cavernous appetite
and hungry eyes
They filled each other
with love and pride.
