After watching tonight's episode, I have become certain of two things:1. The makers of the show hogged down 100s of South Indian movies after getting high on something. Placed a bet amongst themselves to come up with a story in-between that and out came Ghulam.2. Once the high wore off, they looked at what they've come up with. Shook their heads at their own audacity and then modified it to fit mainstream Indian Television, because bet toh bet hain bhai.I really cannot think of another reason. 😆The commando acted in a way that is only possible in Indian Telly. No commando officer in his right mind would jeopardize the safety of his fellow comrades to execute a task that was not a direct order from his superiors.I wasn't really surprised seeing Raghav getting beaten up by a man almost half his size- dude, I have watched "The Mountain and The Viper", so I know that size doesn't matter...in this case, nor does logic. 😆And just when you give up on the outright illogicality of the show- BAM. There comes a surprise slap on your face saying "How do you like that, biatch"?In this case, I'm talking about the Rashmi and Veer scene. While I wasn't shocked (I'm an ardent fan of "Game of Thrones", so...), I was definitely surprised, and dare I say, impressed.Yes, it was cruel. But then, the show made no effort in masking the obvious when the trailers came out- the women are treated worse than the dirt on the men's shoes. I was fascinated by the execution, instead.I abso-freaking-lutely LOVED Vikas in the whole scene! I mean, the actor has been asked to enact a scene of horrifying cruelty towards a helpless (yet strong, I must add) female- and he does it with an unflinching face. Displaying just the right amount of anger and sadism, NEVER going OTT. Now THAT'S some performer to watch out! 👏Now, let's talk about the Ghulam in Ghulam. I was right in deducing that it wasn't some "brotherly bond" between him and Veer. He always had the collar tied around his neck with Veer pulling the leash tightly every now and then to remind him of his place, of the "ehsaan" Veer had done on him by petting him since an early age.You see one scene between the two and you know what I mean. Adding to that, the flashback scene from their childhood. He seems more like Harry Potter than Reek to me, now. Poor sod.You can clearly see Param's face torn between disapproval and fear in the coal scene to know that whatever he might spout to keep his master happy, he does, subconsciously, holds a grudge against them. But then, he is just as equally helpless as those women who are abducted into the Chaudhary household. And that's the essence of the story and his character, I think.Done with the dark, let's move on to the lighter notes of the epi. 😃So, finally, we get to see Shivani. Not much of a first impression, though- all Niti had to do was cry and run, run and cry. 🤔But oh well, I can't complain, her scenes with Param provided some much-needed lightheartedness and cuteness to the otherwise violent tone of the episode. 😳I am glad I didn't start watching the show with some pre-conceived notion. Shivani and Rangeela were ADORABLE (with shouty caps!).Especially this one:Shivani: "I'm not crying!"Rangeela: "Oh really? If this is not crying, then show me how you cry." 🤣So Niti has gone from "Aiyappa...what to do?" to "Shiv Ji...what to do?" 😆Aur kuchh badle na badle, Taylor and her love for various Hindu Gods nahin badalne wala.A special mention of Rangeela surprising me with his street-smartness when he asks the Kulfi waala to show his licence when the former demanded for 1000 bucks from Shivani. I did feel he'll do something predictable, hero-like: either threaten the man with violence or pay him on her behalf, I'm glad he didn't resort to either! 😃Also, Miss Rondu... 🤣The precap: well, the budding romance between them was pretty much predictable (the articles mentioned it ages ago). What I'm interested to see is how he'll dupe her for his Master? I can already tell that he'll do it against his wish. Maybe this would be Veer's way of asking for a compensation from Rangeela for compromising the security of Berahampur? Seems very likely.P.S: Did Shivani call him "bhoot"?? 🤣P.P.S: As I have a Hotstar premium account, I get to watch the episodes at 6:30 pm instead of waiting for it to air on T.V. I post these reviews out of respect for those who don't have a Hotstar account and don't wish for the episode to be spoiled. But please let me know if you'd like for me to update it before the official air timing with the "spoiler alert" warning or you prefer it this way? Thanks. 😊
