Hey guys,
So I see alot of debate going around about who was at fault and what not.
Quite honestly I'm not at all surprised or upset with Sona for not believing Dev.
Yes, anger and ego make people take shitty decisions which most almost always come to regret.
However, there is only so much one can take before losing their minds and rationality.
Dev made countless promises to Sona over time but barely kept any of them. Given how empty his words turn out to he half the time in face of actual situations it makes sense for Sona to not believe him. She's pissed of and hurt, trying to be strong but completely shattered inside. The way shades of reality that her love has shown have been harsh and downright painful.
I'm glad she finally stood up for herself and her family. He crossed all lines, broke whatever little there was left between them by asking her to leave.
As sad as it is, its reality. When people take someone's trust for granted it comes back to bite them at a time when they need it the most. She trusted him time and time again and he always disappointed her and its simply karma that when he was actually being honest for once, she didn't believe him. He is the one who pushed her to this point. The rest of the hooligans merely played a part in the who thing.
In terms of Dev. As sick as his character makes me feel overall, I can't help but pity him. I personally feel men generally don't have the kind of strength that women do and very rarely do we come across men who can balance their relationships in their family. Psychologically speaking, Dev has never been stable therefore I wasn't at all surprised that he couldn't balance his marriage and his relations or even see the blunt realities of his family and accept them when he saw them. He is the kind of man who I feel genuinely did try to make everyone happy but failed miserably because he simply doesn't know how to manage his own self and draw lines. Also because his family really really sucks and doesn't give a dime about his happiness. They take him for granted much like he took Sona for granted. A man can only do so much on his own, when pretty much all the odds are against him.
People who live for others and are selfless often end up letting things go in hopes that they will get better. (Dev and Sona both fit into this category). They keep giving people chances over and over again. It only takes a tragic and harsh wake up call, that essentially changes their world to stop giving a jack. I feel like he finally realised that they were being played in someway and since that someone was clearly from his family, he understood that Sonakshi would never really be happy with him. That they wouldn't be able to mend his relationship with her because people just won't let it happen and he doesn't want her to suffer anymore. See he isn't oblivious to her pain in my opinion. He knows that she's endured a lot in his house. I think he kept silent because he felt Sona understood him and his family and therefore by bringing things out to the surface it would dampen his family environment. The only place he was completely blindsided was his mother and I think that today to an extent he even understood that she would never accept Sona. Since he clearly can't let his mother go, he forced the person he truly loves the most in the world once again.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was the right thing to do. I'm simply saying that in some situations in life you make decisions feeling like they are the only option. Some said that he doesn't have the courage to fight. I don't think its about courage at all. It's more about responsibilities and duties. He is a responsible son therefore he will never abandon his mother even if she is wrong and he knows that. He's just not cut out that way. Knowing that there really is no hope for Sona in his family, i think he purposefully pushed her away because he doesn't want her to endure it anymore.
Personally speaking, this show may feel like its turned cliche and in small instances it really has but overall the CVs have stuck to reality. This shit really does happen in real life. I've personally Love really does't conquer all, especially after marriage. The moment a third person gets involved in a marital conflict, the marriage is over. Khalas. There is no going back. Unfortunately, unlike how we will see in the show, destiny rarely gives second chances. Parents and families out of insecurity and in some cases greed destroy their own in ways they can never recover from. It's really sad but true. Sometimes people you essentially have no relation with understand and care about you more than your 'real' relationships do. (Sona was that person for Dev.) Its not that they always do it out of malice and consciously. Many times its unconscious, misinformed, selfish decisions that in foresight are terrible but seem the best thing to do at the time.
As someone quite adeptly said in one the of posts, its everyone's fault and no ones at the same time. You can't singularly blame anyone. Everyone has a part to play, even circumstances. However Ishwari and Dev do have the biggest hand in it. The rest just used their vulnerabilities, and Sona's mistake were out of reaction for the most part. You can only be understanding and rational to an extent. Of course the CVs just also need to shake things up a bit so the drama is a necessity đ¤
I think Dev won't forget the influence Sona had on his life. He can never go back to being the Dev he once was. I feel like there will be like a character switch in a way with Sona becoming the kind of person Dev was before he met her in a way. Serious, stern, no nonsense, etc. Whereas Dev clearly has chilled down. He'll stop giving a fish about anyone or anything, including his mother to an extent. I honestly doubt he will figure out Vicky's play in this, that's going to be a drama plot post leap. But i hope in a way he does realize that his family doesn't give a frack about him.
So yeah. I'm done for now. Apologies for the Long ramble. Clearly lost track somewhere in between.

Just to be clear, I don't particularly like Dev's character. Personally I would never want Sona to go back to him, ever. In fact I think she came to reality check quite late and should have left him ages ago. However, given that this is a TV show i really doubt that's going to happen. Dev will never truely change as a character so its lost hope therel. The guy will keep hurting her thinking he's making the right choice and he will never really understand the pain she's lived through in his house and because of him. But because I'm tired of how this show has become I'm looking forward to the new season.
