When The Heart Speaks

A sacrifice, a realization and an acceptance - This, in essence, was what today's beyhadh was all about. The main players have gathered in the lounge while the frozen princess is fighting for her life. Maya is unconscious to the outside world but the outside world is fully focused on Maya.

Arjun is distraught, in desperation he pulls Sanjh towards God, begging her to pray for Maya's recovery. A reluctant Sanjh folds her hand and prays, Arjun joins her in praying- Result - Maya's heart beat stops, her life stills. Why would God accept a prayer and change the destiny when the prayer does not emanate from the heart? Why would God accept the prayer of a man who believes only when he wants something? While one prayer was more of a pacifier to a distraught soul (Arjun), another was selfish! It resulted in Maya's collapse.

You gain something and You lose something This keeps the balance of the universe in check. It cannot be give-give or take-take all the time, a give -take is the law of nature, of life, of universe. A life was taken!! what could equal a life, Happiness of course. but such an act of generosity should come from the heart, only then will the sacrifice be accepted. This time Sanjh sacrifices her happiness for Maya's life! The machine immediately hums with life. Sanjh's unselfish sacrifice is going to bring color into Maya's life.

If Sanjh let go of her happiness for the sake of Arjun's happiness then Maya let go of her mother as the center of her universe. The girl who was shouting for her Maa whenever Ashwin was in the vicinity now calls out for Arjun spontaneously and even in half stupor. From an unstable world, Maya has shifted to a stable world but into an uncharted territory. Any new territory will make one suspicious, wary, somewhat similar will be Maya's life for a while. Her overwhelming need to control every second, every moment will find it tough to adjust to changed situation. Her past will color her present, she will expect dragons to jump out unexpectedly and slay her, that might force her to make pre-emptive strike.

Vandana who was resistant to the idea of Maya as her DIL is now willing to accept Maya as part of the family. She saw and heard Arjun's pain and his love for Maya. Rather than fighting against it, she has accepted the truth -that Arjun loves Maya and has never loved Sanjh.

I loved two things today. One, Jhanvi was a witness to Sanjh & Arjun's bonding and love today. Tomorrow when Insecurity and fear of loss will hit Maya hard, when she cannot trust Arjun, it will be Jhanvi's saner counsel that will show her the glimmering truth.

The second thing was Sanjh's mood swings. It's tough to wish well for the woman who has stolen her happiness but it is tougher to maintain that facade of acceptance!! As soon as Sanjh is back in the bosom of her family, her brave mask crumbles. However, unlike Maya, Sanjh has her family, their unstinting support and their unconditional love.

So Sanjh gives up her dream of being a bride!!

P:S: That piggy bank contained the money that Sanjh collected from her childhood!!! Either her father was a kanjoos or she was cheating..All those years and the piggy bank did not overflow???

I love your insightful posts! So much better than the episodes themselves😊

Although nothing can make me root for a Maya-Arjun association, I love reading your comprehensive analyses of the characters and their motives.

I'm happy that saanjh is finally beginning to see thing as it is, arjun is not hers as lover but always there as a friend. it won't be easy for her but the last two episodes were a step in the right direction. this is what I wanted to see, not the crying and patronizing she was doing for the past couple of episodes.

Thank You Very much, Caput Draconis 😊

I am curious to know why you don't root for Maya-Arjun pairing, could you please share the reason for your dislike?

Another awesome post, I really love your analysis Yes yesterday's episode was definitely heart-touching & I know all Saanjh lovers were like 'Ah, take that haters...Saanjh is so sacrificing but your Maya is not & would never do this!!' And yes I never expected Saanjh would want Maya's harm to gain her happiness, she isn't that sort yet, in future I don't know. I think at first her prayer was more of Arjun' s sake but later when she traded her happiness for Maya's life because she knows Arjun won't be able to take loosing Maya. Saanjh can't have Arjun to herself as long as Maya is there... it can't be that she is being selfless & gets Arjun also not cause Maya pain...it can't happen... either Saanjh becomes selfish then only can she get him which will cause Maya's destruction or let him go with Maya.

Another thought, Maya is darkness...the night & Arjun is the light... the day. Now though darkness & light are meaningless without each other, they also never meet... day & night are always in parallel to each other. But the one time when they meet is dusk...Saanjh means dusk. I wonder if Saanjh will be the bridge between Maya & Arjun... the one who would balance the darkness of Maya & light of Arjun, uniting them forever.

I am having a problem understanding this phrase '' saanjh ne APNE hissay ki khushi de diya '' How has Saanjh given up her happiness ? Was Saanjh & Arjun a couple ever ? Saanjh is a good friend . Maya is Arjun's choice & Saanjh has no option but to accept his choice since she loves her bestie & wants to see him happy. More than giving up her happiness I find Saanjh has no choice but to accept the situation. It's not in her hand to make Arjun forcibly fall in love with her. Arjun wanted Saanjh to pray for his Maya ... she was unwilling at first but her love for her friend made her do that too. Later Saanjh told her parents that the love she had always wanted to see in Arjun's eyes for her ..she had seen that today for the first time, but it was for Maya.
People around this forum are writing essays on Saanjh's selfless love but how can it be selfless when there is no other option for her. Sanjh has not sacrificed anything .. but yes she does want to see her bestie happy . But I am happy she will be confessing her love to Arjun later on cuz I was not understanding this '' do not tell Arjun'' game that was going on in the Mathur family. Though the time isn't right ...she shoudn't have waited this long. She should have told him much earlier...telling now only means making Arjun's life complicated... the guy who had a happy go lucky nature ...oblivious to all the turmoil going around him ...cannot remain so after his friend's confession. The time was not right for confession but still it's better late than never.

From the interviews & Rajesh Khattar's insta post we come to know Saanjh will not give up on her love. She's gonna fight back for it & will join hands with Ashwin . Saanjh already had a partial knowledge about Maya's troubled family. Malkani had told her once about Maya & her mom's not so good relation with her dad. But I think she will believe only one sided story of Ashwin . Btw did u notice even Arjun now has a soft corner for Ashwin ... he told Maya in the hospital that it was your dad that saved you from under the water. Ashwin is able to make people change their opinion about him in secs ... but its only Maya who can see through him . I wonder y Maya didn't tell anyone that he was trying to kill her ! Didn't she see he was trying to suffocate her with that pillow !

Maya is her own savior .. the way her bloodshot eyes opened .. & the way she screamed for Arjun .. even Ashwin was taken aback & he was looking like a scared puppy.

Your analysis is excellent as always ... u r the only person whose posts &thoughts on the episodes i love reading ... cuz its absolutely neutral.

So what's your opinion about this ''saanjh ki hissay ki khushi bhagwan ne Maya ko de diya '' ...do u think that this ''her happiness '' was hers at the first place ?

Thank you, Kavyanjali ..yes, yesterday's episode was heart touching...

Ummm...it's too early to say that Sanjh has become the "the saint". Sanjh is at war, against herself which is natural.. she wants Arjun's happiness and she wants Arjun. She knows Arjun's happiness is in Maya but she is unable to let go of her need.

If you noticed, Sanjh's every act has been provided with a justification nevertheless they are self centered..Same way, if the makers are intent to show grey shades, they will provide her with justification..

No, I disagree ..Maya is not darkness, Maya is illusion. When I think of Maya, i recollect demons and Gods. Both were masters of illusions. While the ugly would dress as glam looking heroes, the Gods sometimes would disguise themselves as beggars, old man or extremely handsome woman - what I am trying to say is, what is displayed is not the truth, the real face is something entirely different from what is shown? Which way is Maya going to fall? - in the path of Gods or In the path of demons!! Both the way is littered wth death and destruction.

Another point that has to be remembered is, everybody assumes Maya to be a destroyer but if you observe her antics, she is self-destructive !!... She could have easily destroyed the life of that security guard who dared to cross her but instead she offers him job and deducts her share from his wages, had she wanted, she could have slapped Arjun when he smeared the cake but her reaction is to walk away... When her mother steps out, she hurts herself and not her mother...Betrayal is one aspect that brings the worst aspect from Maya. For that, situation has to be created which shows that Maya suspects betrayal, only then will she get aggressive..

The problem with Maya is, she is filled with love but enclosing that love is the fear of losing the loved one and abandonment and that stops her from being "Normal".

Absly, Sanjh will be integral to Arjun and Maya, yesterdays "Mein aapke haath nahi chodunga" dialogue underlines it

So what's your opinion about this ''saanjh ki hissay ki khushi bhagwan ne Maya ko de diya '' ...do u think that this ''her happiness '' was hers at the first place ?

There are 3 reasons for it :

1. To justify whatever Sanjh is going to do next. Her out-of-character actions must be excused as "oh! That poor girl sacrificed her happiness", surely this is not so bad, why is that Maya reacting so cruelly towards her kind of reaction - That's sympathy has to stay with Sanjh for now...

2. In Indian scripts, be it movies or shows, "Ma or Mother" is a very powerful character although she might be a prop in the show, her bhavishyavani's however should and will not be ignored - this has been the basic rule followed by creatives. we know Vandana wanted Sanjh as her Bahu, she all but organized the suhag raat..now she is a mom and her words should not turn into a falsehood..the justification for transition and also the subtle pointer that NOW, Vandana is on her way to accept Maya as her Bahu!

3. The fact that Arjun keeps on saying,"I will never leave your hand" every second episode implies that he indeed will leave Maya at some point. In grief, he may get closer to Sanjh but how can Sanjh have her happiness? She already has donated it to Maya, ergo, she will be instrumental in returning the duffer to Maya as her Arjun!

Sanjh's love is not selfless, it has never been selfless..it has always been self centered. When an opportunity arises and if she is given to think that Maya is a bad influence on Arjun, then she surely will make an attempt to win Arjun (If I remember rightly, that Bridal gown aka piggy bank stayed right on the table, isn't it?)

No, The Arjun... the earlier confession would not have suited the story line... then the plot would have taken different route but now, she is going to confess her love and Arjun is going to be sympathetique but when she tries to tell him about Maya, Arjun will naturally put it down to Sanjh's jealousy and refuse to belive it which will force Sanjh to dig deep, Maya to react., Arjun to realize that Sanjh did have a point and for Arjun to step back .. Until sanjh discovers the real truth.

The Unique, he completely believed Ashwin right on the bridge. The suspicion is decreasing ..now for him to turn into puppet is just a breath away.

Maya is her own warrior but she is trapped in a maze and does not know the way out. She will fight, kill all that monsters that will come her way BUT always staying inside the maze... Only Arjun will be able to lead her out of the maze and out of danger...
