But today's post is dedicated to Anika.
I have always admired the way Asya always compares SSO to an Alpha Male wolf.
Thank You dear 😊 I am honored that people even remember half the things I post and rant about.
Yes! to me he does resemble the "Alpha Male (Wolf)' though not all will agree.
Shivvay has many flaws and almost all of them related to his treatment and judgement of Annika but where his Family is concerned he is only the "Best' of himself.
If you take Annika out of the equation and look at Shivvay just as a Family man you will see the perfect 'Alpha Male'.
He looks out for the Family as a unit and is fiercely protective of his brothers and sister, the younger and vulnerable ones in the pack. He indulges them but also asserts his rights over their well being without a moments hesitation. They come first because they need his strength and protection the most.
He has left, both Tej and Shakti, the elder males, behind in that respect.
Even Dadi and Jhanvi respect Shivvay and turn to him to find solutions to family issues. Pinky, I do not need to mention, believes he is her 'golden boy'.
But those are not the reasons that I think him as the 'Alpha Wolf'.
To me he is the 'Alpha Wolf' because he assumes the responsibility without even being asked to. It is like an unspoken understanding among the Oberoi's that Shivvay steps in and fixes stuff that is thrown at the Family. He will go to any extent, even if it means foul means and playing downright dirty, to make sure that his Family is kept from harm and shame. In short he will sacrifice himself at the Family Altar and even make a pact with the Devil himself if he needs to in order to stand between them and the world outside.
The best part of all this that he does all this without demanding their respect or expecting any thanks for doing it. He does it because it needs to be done - Pure and Simple Fact of his life. He does not want applause or a pat on his back for a job well done - he just knows it IS HIS JOB to get it done
I too have repeatedly doubted the fact whether Anika has it in her to be the Alpha female with her lack of education, language or may be ever upper society skills.
Superficial skills in my opinion that can be easily learnt. Annika has strength of personality and a very strong sense of self- esteem. I know people are going to laugh at what i wrote but I am talking about the Annika deep inside who has been overshadowed by this emotionally foolish one that has replaced her temporarily. She is in there somewhere and will emerge - no worries about that.
But yesterday I too sure can claim that we all saw the Alpha Female in action.
She and her pack took the NB head on. She smelled the smoke and not only alerted her Alpha but also took her pack in confidance.
I do not need to add anything to this because you said it so perfectly. Again, we are not going into the 'Dynamics' of ShivIka but their role as 'Pack Leaders'.
Let me also comment here the way Om has started calling her 'Bhaabhi' and respects her by referring to her as 'aap '. Some people are not liking this saying that he has never called Shivaay as 'bhayya'. The truth is that even if Om has never referred to Shivaay as 'bhayya' but on numerous occasions has called him his bada Bhai.
Him not saying Bade Bhiya has nothing to do with the level of respect he has for Shivvay. His relationship with Shivvay is more on par because he 'calls him out' on the wrong stuff on numerous occasions. He is, in my opinion, Shivvay's conscience that Shivvay, to his bad luck, cannot ignore. Age has nothing to do with the relationship between siblings. The level of respect you give to the relationship is what speaks volumes.
That is the truth : Shivaay is the big brother. Shivaay also started his authority when he stopped Om from leaving the house.
Exactly what I meant - actions speak louder than words. Om never disrespects Shivvay even when he calls him out on his wrongs
But Om never called Anika as 'bhabhi' as soon as marriage secret was out. Ani has earned that respect from Om post their interactions where she convinced him to eat.
Om has always respected Annika from the very beginning and I always say that their relationship is unique because I feel his level of respect for her outweighs Shivvay's for her. He accepted Annika for who she was and never looked down upon her ever. In fact he always stood up for her and has been her most ardent advocate.
Even Annika, for her part, compares Shivvay to Om and states that he is more human and kind than him. It irks Shivvay that Annika respects Om more of course but that is the stark truth and there is nothing he can do about it.
I never commented on any of the posts that were written about the Bhabhi being said but because you put me on the spot here (lol) I have to write my 2 cents about it.
Om calling her Bhabhi has a deeper reason than it just being a word that has elevated her position to one senior than him in relationship.
Annika does not care about power, status, position or title. Think of what Annika really, really cares about and you will find the answer to why Om called her Bhabhi. Listen to the conversation between the 2 again and you will see how insightful the 'wise sage' Om really is.
Think back to Annika's reaction when Rudy Baby first called her 'Bhabhi' and recollect the disbelief on her face.
It said, "Bhabhi??!! I am related to someone other than Sahil??!! I have someone else that calls me his own??!!"
That is exactly what Om tapped into when she said that some people are not as fortunate as you all to have Families to call their own. The pain and loneliness in her voice was evident. She was married to Shivvay but was not acknowledged by him as his wife. She calls him her 'Pati' many times but has not had the fortune of hearing him call her his 'Patni'
Om's Bhabhi makes her his by relation from that marriage and gives her another family member to call her own. That is all Om did. His simple word means the world to her and is worth the whole Oberoi Empire in her eyes.
His mother, not his dadi neither ShivRu came but she did, and he has now accepted her as a part of the family not because she is married to his elder brother but because he has accepted her as his 'bhabhi' and the Alpha Female. Which is really sweet. It means that he not only trusts her but now also respects her. The 'aap ' is him respecting the alpha female.
So Asya, be happy your Alpha Female has arrived!!!!
She has true but I want the 'Rose Tinted' glasses that she is wearing courtesy Shivvay Singh Oberoi's 'Blush' to come off. If she is to be the 'Alpha Female' then she has to be first accepted by the 'Alpha Male',not shunned. Right now we are seeing Annika in a daze, drunk on 'love potion' and I need her to snap out of it fast. The Award Ceremony should be a jolt strong enough to bring her back to Earth i think.
It will be painful but it is needed.
Later she also went on to plot to trap Svet to call her bluff. And boy did she succeed!!!!
So it was an episode where all have accepted Anika to be the alpha female, NB included. Svet for the first time acknowledged that Ani is a threat, but she is still complacent. She is still not paying any heed to Tia. It is interesting that Tia knows that 'Anika ki jaan lene se bhi tough hai use Shivaay se door karna ; Shivaay uske khilaaf ek word nahi sunta '
He needs to let her know what he thinks of her and what her place is in his life even if it is for the term that they are married before the divorce comes through. I always see Dadi standing up for Annika - now I want to hear Shivvay stand up for her considering this is HIS mess that he dragged HER into.
It is enduring to see how Shivaay has come to believe in Anika... The trust factor has gone up.
About Shivaay, what do I say???? This Alpha male may be all dominant and bossy with the world but when it comes to Anika, he is altogether a different person. The Romantic!!!!
He forgets himself and everything when he is with her. Yesterday was such example. Om's words brought him back or else he was in his Anika-land.
Love and Romance is good but it does not replace confession of the wrongdoings and atonement. Shivvay needs to acknowledge his wrong behaviour towards Annika and apologize for it whether she asks it from him or not. He has not shown any remorse or shame for what he did. One cannot move on without that in a relationship if he claims he loves and cares for her.
If I am right today Shivaay may tell Tia as well as Pinky off and may be... Just may be stand up for Anika.
Pinky's expression did look like she was not happy and a little surprised by his response. I do hope he grows a 'back bone' and soon
