As for your question, I guess they won't stop Meghna from working after marriage. Time will tell if NK is going to make a big deal out of this or not.

Hi, I remember you being an SR follower! Good to see you getting interested in the show! And karan is surely the most interesting character in the show, and NaiRan too are grabbing many eye-balls in less time cos of their cute chemistry!
Well sharda just wanted a household were both her daughters could pursue their dreams even after getting married. She wanted her girls to be independant. She has heard sujaan singh and her words for girls getting educated and felt that this must be the right choice for her daughter's sasural were she gains respect for her choices. Moreover, she believed in her daughter's capabilities that they can prove a better bahu to the chauhans. So she chose the chauhans. The story right now focuses on her quest to get everything in a proper way and get her daughter married without any hurdles.

As for your question, I agree with the points listed above. That seems to be the only logical reason but I found the choice in itself questionable.
