The first three mauryas were very friendly with Greeks after the famous treaty between Sandrocottus and selecus. Both sides exchanged Gifts and ambassadors. Chandragupta formed a separate committee of amatyas which served foreigners and a portion of them personally served Chandra's Greek wife from Syria. It shows that maybe she enjoyed a good amount of influence on the emperor. Bindusara was more friendly with Greeks. Iambolus a Greek visitor to.patliputra commented that the king of palibothra had great love for the graecians. Well he can be any of the first three mauryas but majority of scholars believe him to be bindusara. Bindusara maintained personal contact with antiochus as he personally wrote letters to him which shows their warm relationship. The trade flourished between india and western world due to peace.
