Author's Note - It's been too long but i'm back with what i love doing the most. Here's a fresh take on this One Shot written based on my current favorites - Karthik and Naira of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
One Shot - Inspired by Soch Na Sake

Karthik looked out of the window and back at the photograph he was holding. He smiles as his fingers caress the picture fondly.
tainu itna main pyaar karaan
ik pal vich sau baar karaan
tu jaave je mainu chhad ke
maut da intezaar karaan
I love you so much,
love you a hundred times in a moment,
if you leave me and go,
I'll wait for death..
Two long days had gone by and here he was, this close to his happiness. His Naira. Every moment of the last two days was agonizing. Karthik had died every single minute without Naira. He had no other choice than to stay away completely, thanks to his Dadi and when he left after their last meeting, he had left his heart behind.
ke tere liye duniya chhod di hai
tujhpe hi saans aake ruke
main tujhko kitna chaahata hoon
ye tu kabhi soch na sake
I've left the world for you,
my breath stops at you only.
How much I love you,
you can't even think..
And now here he was, barely an hour away from their reunion. He was rarely left alone the past two days and now that he had a couple of minutes alone, Karthik begins to wonder how Naira would react when she sees him. Would she smile at him? Or would she blush on seeing him? Karthik gets lost in his thoughts and smiles.
kuchh bhi nahi hai ye jahaan
tu hai to hai is mein zindagi
ab mujhko jaana hai kahaan
ke tu hi safar hai aakhiri
this world is nothing,
if you are there, there is life in it.
now where else do I have to go?
You are my last journey..
Just then, someone knocks on his room door and Karthik is jolted from his thoughts. He mutters a small prayer and thanks his Krishnaji for giving him the best gift of his life - His Naira. Karthik quickly walks towards the door and opens it.
ke tere bina jeena mumkin nahin
na dena kabhi mujhko tu faasley
main tujhko kitna chaahati hoon
ye tu kabhi soch na sake
it's not possible to live without you,
don't ever keep me distant from you.
how much I love you,
you can't even think..
Naira paces around her room unable to contain her excitement. She hears sounds from the main entrance and immediately goes beside her Gayu Di. She touches Gayu's shoulder and Gayu squeezes her hand. Gayu looks out of the room for Karthik and when she sees him coming in, she turns towards Naira and notices her clutching Akshara's photo, with her eyes closed. Gayu touches Naira's shoulder and her eyes open.

Naira and Karthik's eyes meet and that moment, everything around them came to a stop. The memories of their togetherness replay before their eyes and they remember all the beautiful moments. Karthik forgets to breathe and Naira clutches her dupatta much more tightly, as if telling her thumping heart to stop.
aankhon ki hain ye khwahishein ke
chehre se tere naa haTein
neendon mein meri bas tere
khwaabon ne leen hain karwatein
this is the wish of my eyes,
that they don't stop looking at you..
in my sleep, there are twists and turns
of your dreams only..
Naitik's voice jolts them and they look away. Naira watches Naitik embrace Karthik and smiles. Karthik then walks closer to Naira and Naira's breathing increases. Their eyes lock.
ke teri ore mujhko le ke chalein
ye duniya bhar ke sab raaste
main tujhko kitna chahta hoon
ye tu kabhi soch na sake
all the paths of the world
take me towards you only.
how much I love you,
you can't even think..
Karthik smiles at Naira and Naira reciprocates. At that moment, they both knew that the two days wait was really worth it.

Karthik and Naira exchange the garlands. He then extends his hand to her and when Naira holds on to him, he leans close to her and whispers, "I love you, always!"
