Sona already knows Dev cares and he also wants to have kids... but she also know that Dev is lying everytime he says he doesnt care if she becomes a mother.
Yes, Sona and the rest of us know how deeply Dev cares for Sona and therefore the conversation today was a reiteration of their love for one another but it wasn't communication.
But I beg to differ with you that Dev is lying about wanting children. Dev and Sona wanted to have children. It was their combined dream. But Dev loves Sona more than anything else...infinite times more than his long ago dream of having children. Therefore, he quashes his children's dream for Sona. I believe he is not lying but has changed his priorities in life. To Dev, if he cannot have children with Sona, he doesn't want children...that is how important Sona is to him.
