More later.. right now 2 words for the show - its complicated
@Mr Das - if you see this before I add my thoughts, I agree our show is simple. But By God (pun intended), today I am back to how I felt like 25 episodes in - its complicated
**EDITED**

Ishwari impressed me today. I never thought I will say that. As nauseating as her words were, they were true. Dev lied to his mother to be able to marry Sonakshi. And she was absolutely right in reminding him that he needs to check with his wife before making promises on her behalf.

(The bit about having to leave the house because of Sonakshi wasn't true and actually Bull$hit)

She actually did devakshi a huge favour today. She reminded them of the silver lining. They have a 7% chances of conception. I had been waiting for a Dev Dixit dialogue for months - Main 7% ko 100% main badalna jaanta hun... LOL. So, his little chat with His God's God didn't yield much. Ishwari in fact reminded him that they still have a chance. Whether Devakshi are ready to be parents is another topic. The point is they have a chance and this chance is what most fertility treatments start on. They are painful. More so when there is primary infertility (i.e. the lady has issues with conception or carrying to term). But the option exists.

Oh dear Lord. I love how Lord Shiva's idol keeps making an appearance. Today when Ishwari placed her demands, she was between Lord Shiva and Dev. She gave Dev a route to change his destiny. A route that he had been looking for for weeks now.

Now, the complication starts. Mr Dixit, like someone pointed out a few months ago, your listening comprehension is so bad. Ishwari asked you to convert the 7% into 100%. She is asking you to get Sonakshi pregnant. What did you tell her? That you will get her a pota... huh - dude, there is a vast difference in those two statements and tomorrow if your wife can't give birth to a baby boy, your mother can get you into surrogacy or have you impregnate another woman (I know, I know. I keep going back to the same topic).

Sonakshi echoed my thoughts just in time. Dev Dixit is a complicated man. He throws money at problems, hides the good, bad and the ugly but worse, doesn't wait to hear your response and assumes you said yes. Speak now, or forever hold your peace

Bijoy, you remind me of my dad. He is like you. We have had exactly the same discussions on so many topics and now I keep him out of my ILs scene because he cant control his emotions so easily when it comes to me. Your daughter will need you as a sounding board in times to come. You may be rude, but you love her as a person just like Dev. Keep your calm. So happy to see Saurabh dada back. I love that guy.

Erica and Shaheer were at the personal best again. Like I said, y'day was a prelude to this week.

What a wonderful post di👏👏...u've summed up what all I felt...nothing to add...so copy pasting my replies from other posts...here I go!😉

I'm proud of Ishwari today!!!...Do u know why??
Coz atleast she didn't pretend anything in front of Dev...This was the REAL ISHWARI!!👏👏...She was vocal abt the hatred that she has for Sona and didn't manipulate her words making Dev will that his Maa is Mahaan😕😕

Though dev will never treat Ishwari less than God...but atleast he knows what his mother feels abt his wife...though I'm of least hope seeing growth in Dev's character...but if it happens atleast he can confront ishu abt her speaking so much crap abt Sona!..and then Ishu will not be able to defend herself from dev's accusations😉😉

Exactly Sona is heartbroken...
Not just because of Ishu's taunts & blames!
But because she knows she has again lost Dev to Ishwari ...now dev will dance on Ishu's tunes and make Sona do the same...if it is against her will also!

I just hated that Scene when dev asked Sona to say yes hurrily coz he needs to get maata back asap...and didn't even wait for her approval...and assumed it himself that sona will not deny his decision...😡😡
All he wants to think abt the present not paying heed to the future...😕😕
He assumes that Sona will still be accepted as a part of family even if the treatment fails...
Repeating his earlier mistakes...and living in his delusions..

What more can we expect from him??🥱🥱

It's quite clear going by sona's self talk that Dev has only thought of present without thinking this whole thing through. What they are going you do is potentially what any couple in their situation would have done. However, Sonakshi has some questions. And now she is left confused as to where Ishwari stands on this. Mind you, she never said "yes" and Dev assumed that her silence is a yes.
Again, Devrath Dixit does whatever it takes to keep his family happy. His wife has been harping on about how hurt his mother will be due to this news. He puts 2 and 2 together and assumes Sonakshi is game. Which she is. However, she got questions. Ishwari will face them tomorrow

It's easy to slip into the notion that the central premise of the show is Dev-Sona vs. Ishwari, and I am always grateful for those epiosdes which make apparent that, like you said, it's complicated! Yesterday may not have been a great day for Dev-Sona's relationship, but it was a win for feminism. Instead of turning on each other, the women rightly held Dev accountable, and called him out on his usual, thoughtless errors.

Ishwari made him stop before he made another careless promise, and told him to go talk to his wife (I was also so proud of her here!), and Sona asked him a question that forced him to think about potential future outcomes, rather than just the present issue of Ishwari refusing to return to the house. When Dev asked her to rush home from her parents house, still wearing blinders and focused only on Ishwari, she reminded him that he was not the only one under duress. I loved that split-second transition on Dev's face, where he snapped out of Ishwari-only mode, suddenly cognizant of another parallel issue. It was significant that that was when he answered her question from before more pertinently... "it makes no difference if you become a mother or not."

Dev, as a man, brought up with oodles of male privilege needs to face these complexities -- yes, TWO problems at the same time -- and learn to deal with them without blocking either Ishwari or Sona's pain out completely to manage the other's. Ishwari wants what Sona may not be able to give; they have reached an impasse, and Dev has to tread with extreme caution from here on out. Sona sees herself as a failure for not being able to achieve in this department as she does in every other. Having a grandchild meant success for Ishwari (as I theorised in a previous post), and her own son, knowing this, has divested her of that opportunity without letting her participate in the decision. It's a huge blow to everything she thought she accomplished. Neither woman's pain can be undermined or neglected at any given moment; Dev's old tactics of one problem-to-solution at a time must fall by the wayside.

Cherry on the cake was the precap. Sona has seen the error of communicating through Dev/trusting Dev with communication. As we have long established, he has terrible listening comprehension, and his reports cannot be trusted. Good for Sona, going directly to the source, so she can have the right impression of the situation, rather than one adulterated by Dev's delusions of control.

excellent analysis.

Yes, i understand that Ishwari may have done Devakshi a favor.. they have a subject to think over, discuss and then take a sane decision.

Dev needs to think before he acts, for when he thinks his decisions are always right. His impulsiveness when it comes to Ishwari needs to be checked. How, when, where he is going to learn, only time will tell.. But i think the audience is running out of patience and because of this, there may not be too much time left for him ( and indirectly for the show!)
