Happy New year Guys. Sorry for being late as I will be away from net and TV for 4 - 5 days since 28th December to 1st January for the last few years. I just read this story now and Seven Vows in the morning and the comment washed out as my system had a sudden reboot from no where. Will have to rewrite it again.

Nice part Shirley. Yes, Abhi can be like this once is blue moon or when it is really taking a toll on Radhika. And he can't transform completely to a lovey dovey guy and if at all he changes, Radhika will have heart attack as that can't be his nature. And even the kids, if the kids stop pasturing her for their every need, she will start feeling neglected. This sort of sugary family is good for once in a while and not always.

And with Keshav & Radhika, I don't expect any changes in Radhika from her decision to handle her case without his manipulation. True the grumbling Abhi will be back on his birthday for not getting priority but still she can't compromise on her ethics.

@jaya I was thinking where you were suddenly 😃. Yes complete shut down is fine once in a while. Though not planned I also do it once in a while. It is a different experience which you need once in a while

Chapter 12- The Relief

It was around 12 am when the doctor came out after a marathon surgery that lasted closed to 5 hrs. Keshav rushed to the doctor

" Look Mr Mehra surgery has been successful but the next 3 hrs are critical. See the child is hit on the head. So unless the child gains conscious and recognizes the parents we cannot tell everything is fine"

Keshav nodded and went back to Malini who was seated with Prathiba bua

" What did the doctor tell " asked Prathiba bua. She had held Malini firmly who was shaking as if fearing the worst

" Malini the surgery is successful but we will have to wait" told Keshav

Malini got up " What does it mean we have to wait. Is my child ok "

" She is fine Malini, relax but she has to open the eyes and look at us " told Keshav

" Malini everything will be fine. Just stay calm" told Prathiba bua

It was 5 am when a nurse finally came and called " Mr and Mrs Mehra" . Keshav and Malini rushed to her

" See your girl has opened the eyes and her vital parameters are stable. Dr Parekh wants both of you inside now. Keep your foot wear here and wear this hospital gown as she is kept in a secluded section so as to avoid any kind of infection"

Malini and Keshav entered the ICU the way the nurse had told. Soon they were guided to the place Diya was kept

When Dr Parekh saw them he gently removed Diya's oxygen mask and asked " Beta you know who is this "

Diya was in sedation. Still the girl strained to look at the blurred figures standing in front of her. Keshav heart was in his mouth. What if the girl didn't recognize them

" Mama" the girl called softly. Tears were flowing from Malini's eyes. " Papa" she called this time a bit louder. Keshav let out a sigh of relief.

Dr Parekh kept the mask back, patted the girl gave nurse instructions and led them outside . Once they were outside he told " Mr and Mrs Mehra your child is out of danger now and she has not suffered any serious repercussions. But she will be observation for 2 days and will be in hospital for maybe another week. Then for 6 months you have to bring her for regular checkups as temporary slowness, weakness etc can be the side effects of surgery.

Keshav thanked the doctor and turned. Malini asked for his phone. Keshav thought it might be to check on her parents who were coming from the first available train.

Radhika took the phone seeing Keshav's number. She was in kitchen. She had decided she will go to hospital give break fast to Keshav and Malini, drop Prathiba bua back and then go to office.

" Radhikaji my daughter is fine. I don't know how to thank you. Yes doctor did the surgery but for me yesterday you were Maa Gowri" . Radhika could hear Malini crying through the phone

" Malini what is this. I am so happy Diya is fine. I am coming to hospital"

Keshav looked at his wife as she then dialled the number of her mother , he also wanted to thank Radhika for what she and her family has done.

As Radhika got ready she saw Abhi was also ready " Abhi you have night duty right " she asked

" Radhika I suggest you go to office now as you have hearing today. I will take breakfast and go to hospital. I can be there in hospital for sometime till the couple go and freshen up themselves. On the way back I will drop Prathiba bua also" told Abhi

Radhika sighed. She wished if her husband was this understanding every time then her life would have been smoother

Well written.
Though it was not exactly like this but I had a similar operation when I was in 6th. Zip zap zoom and it was all over. So i could very well relate to it.
Malinis gratitude to Radhika was expected. She is a mother and Radhika saved her child like maa gauri who comes to save us when we call her in troubled times as you rightly said. Abhi he is emphatic because of the situation but why isn't he able to be like this at all times. Why is he in an illusion Radhika can rather should manage everything.
