Salman never had the need to become actor, he has been a star from the get go. That kind of acceptance from audience will not let the craft of actor to thrive and improve. Mixed blessing.

It's not possible for non South Indian people to understand southern stars . They are worshipped as gods, have political clout, their fan clubs are involved in charities and part of many social causes. SI stars reach out to fans and FCs much more than BW stars. I understood this only after living in SI for sometime . In SI, movie stars are Demi gods. That's why 2nd gen of SI superstars are more successful than BW counterparts.
It's a different world altogether. You have to experience it, you can't understand it from comments

There is nothing great (personality wise, depth in voice). He does not consider himself great too. That is what is the greatest thing. End of the day, it is the connection. He connects straight away with the masses and becomes one amongst them. Tamilians, whether it is love or hate, they do it intensely, passionately. They just adore him.

This is a very common question asked not just by you but even his hardcore fans keep wondering what is it that's making them go so gaga about him...What's intriguing is his fans consists of not just masses but the so called elitists too...
