Chandra is sleeping on his bed. He wakes up and looks around. His eyes falls on Nandini's books which are lying on a nearby side table. He gets curious and thinks to himself, "Ab dekhu toh sahi ki yeh kya padhti hai jiske samaksh Acharya Chanayka bhi maun reh gaye." He is in pain but still tries to grab the books. He picks up one book and go through it. He says to himself, "Itni kathin pushtakke toh maine bhi nahi padhi, yeh toh sach mein bahut badi vidhvaan nikli." Nandini enters the scene. She is carrying a "thaal" of medicine. She looks at Chandra who is still reading that book. She smiles and asks him, "yadi pushtakke acchi lag rahi hai toh batao, main tumhe padhkar suna doon". Chandra tells her that he had already read all the books when he was in Takshila(He is lying). Nandini sits near him and asks him to make her understand the meaning of a shlokha. She says that since Chandra has already read all the books, he must know the meaning. She is obviously teasing him and knows that Chandra was lying when he said that he had already read all her books. (Chandra looks as if mentally thinking, "yeh main kaha phas gaya".) He reads the shlokha and gives a random answer and then sighs in relief. Nandini tells him that she was taught a different meaning. Chandra says, "Nahi, jo tumne kaha vohi arth hai, voh kya hai na, maine bahut varsho purv inn pushtakko par adhyan kiya tha, ab tum achanak se prashan karogi toh thodi na main uttar de paunga." Chandra asks her why does love reading so much. Nandini asks, "Tumhe ladna bahut pasand hai na? Kyun?". Chandra says that it's his hobby. Nandini says that similarly reading books is her hobby. She says that she wanted to become "sabse vidhvan" but couldn't complete her studies because someone she loved didn't want her to do so. (She is talking about her father but Chandra doesn't know that) Chandra says that person told her to sacrifice her hobby and she complied just because she loved him. Nandini replies, "Love is the most important thing in this world. Dekhna jab tumhe kisise adhik prem hoga na, tum bhi apni sabse priye vastu tyaag doge". Chandra doesn't agree with her and replies, "I will never fall in love. And, that's the reason why I say that love makes humans miserable". Nandini says that he is wrong because love gives strength to people and not misery. She then puts her hand over Chandra's ghaav and asks him if he can feel the pain. She says, "Peeda ne hi toh hamein sambhala hai, hamein mehsoos karwaya hai ki peeda hai, jiske karan hum hamare ghaav ko aur ghehra hone se rok paatein hai, peeda hi hamein jeevit rakhti hai aur issi peeda ke karan hi main aaj tak jeevit hoon". Both are looking at each other(they kinda look lost in each other's eyes) and the beautiful Chandini BGM is playing in the background.
Helena and her mom enter the scene and interrupts Chandini's beautiful moment. Helena fake smiles at Nandini and apologised for her behaviour(yesterday's). She also thanks Nandini for saving Chandra's life. She further says that Nandini should take some rest. She says that she will put the medicine on Chandra's ghaav. Nandini leaves the room.
Helena starts applying some medicine on Chandra's wound. Helena's mom picks up Nandini book and fake pities Nandini as she was not able complete her studies. Chandra says that Nandini had to sacrifice her studies because of someone she loved dearly. Helena's mom takes Maleyketu's name. Helena futher adds "aag mein ghee" by saying that Nandini loved Maleyketu. Chandra says that he doesn't care as he only married Nandini to take revenge on her father. Helena says that Nandini also married him for the same reason i.e. revenge. Then she asks him if she can change some people's kaksh. Chandra says she can do whatever she wants to do.
In next scene, Maleyketu is angrily throwing things idhar udhar. He is angry because his plan to kill Chandra has failed. He says to himself that he will kill Chandra and then make Nandini his wife and rules over Magadh.
In next scene, Helena is instructing some servant girls to allot the rooms to everyone as per her instructions. She also tells them that one of the new room that has been constructed belongs to Nandini and as it is still not ready, she is giving Nandini a separate room in "Mahal ka pichle wala" area. Durdhara enters the scene and asks Helena that why she is giving a small room to Nandini. Helena first gets angry at Durdhara's interference, then smiles at Durdhara and says, "Durdhara is right. Give the empty room next to Maleyketu&Chaya's room to Nandini and the one next to mine to Durdhara." She then wickedly smiles to herself.
In next scene, Nandini's step mother is "chori chupke" going somewhere. She opens a door to a secret room. A woman is there, sitting on the floor. Nandini's step mother smiles and gives a package to that woman. She says that it was very difficult for her to smuggle that woman inside the palace and now she is happy that she was successful in her attempt. She further says that the entire family will get surprise after seeing her but she will have to stay hidden for some more time. (It is revealed that there was food in that package for that strange new woman)
In next scene, Nandini enters a room. Some servant girls are arranging her things. Nandini asks them that why was she brought in this new room. Dasis says that it was Helena's order. Nandini asks, "But, why this room?". Helena enters the room and says that she wanted to give her the room next to Chandra's but Chandra didn't want that. She says that she hopes that Nandini won't have any objections to her new room.
In next scene, Chandra is walking in the corridors. He is thinking about the conversation he had with both Nandini and Helena's mom. He comes across Nandini's new room. He thinks to himself, "What is she doing in this room?". He gets angry and walks away. Nandini is going through some books and thinks to herself, "Chandra will like these books. I should take them to him". She smiles to herself and looks very pleased with her decision.
Chandra is inside his room, thinking, "What was Nandini doing in that room? There must be some reason behind it." Helena walks inside his room. He asks Helena the reason for changing Nandini's room. Helena tells him that Nandini told her to allot her that particular room. Chandra questions, "What? She herself asked for that room?". Before Helena could reply, Nandini enters the room. Chandra angrily looks at her. Nandini tells him that she has brought new books for him. Chandra shouts at her. He asks her that why does she want to give him those books. He tells her that he doesn't read useless books and orders her to take them back with her. Helena is smirking in the back ground. Nandini again tells him that she has brought those books for him. Chandra again shouts, startling Nandini. He tells her to put the books on the table and leave his room. Nandini thinks to herself, "What has happened to him. I only came here to give him these books. Why is he getting so angry?". She then puts the book down and leaves his room. As Nandini is leaving, Chandra tells Helena that he wants her to stay with him tonight. Helena looks very happy after hearing this.
Nandini is walking inside the palace. She says to herself that she doesn't care about Chandra. He can do whatever he wants. She hates him. Then why is she feeling bad about Chandra shouting at her. She reprimands herself for thinking about Chandra and walks away.
Inside Chandra's room, Helena asks Chandra if he is angry at her for giving Nandini that room. She says that she understands Nandini's pain and how it must be difficult for Nandini to forget about Maleyketu whom she loves dearly. Chandra says, "Kya apne pati ke saamne aisi baat karna tumhe shobha deta hai?". She tells him that Nandini's love for Maleyketu was the reason why Maleyketu broke Helena's heart. Chandra tells her that Maleyketu is her brother in law now and she should talk accordingly. Helena says that she doesn't care about Maleyketu and Chandra is her everything now. She tries to get cosy with him by putting her head on his shoulder. But, Chandra moves away from her saying that he should sleep now. He goes and lays down on his bed. Helena leaves his room. Chandra sits up and picks up a book that Nandini brought for him. He says to himself, "Kya usse vivaah kar maine uske saath anyaya kiya hai, kyunki voh toh ab bhi Maleyketu se prem karti hai aur yadi maine uspar krodh kiya toh mujhe kyun bura lag raha hai, aur kahiin aisa toh nahi ki main uss stree ke prati aakarsheet ho raha hoon jo kisi aur ko pasand karti hai?". He looks like he is in an ocean of duvidha(Worries).
Precap: Chandra very angrily shouting at Nandini, "I don't care whether you love Maleyketu or not because I have never accepted you as my wife. I have only two wives, Helena and Durdhara". Nandini with tears in her eyes, replies, "I too don't care about your feelings. You're no husband of mine".
