Why did Dev say it doesn't matter if she becomes a mother?

I'm confused why did Dev tell Sona that it doesn't matter if she becomes a mother ... Didnt he promise his mom that he would give a waris? So is Dev implying that he and Ishwari will be okay with surrogacy?

Or did he say that to ensure that Sona comes home and isn't brainwashed by her family about the treatments

Isn't Dev being two-faced and adding more confusion to the current issue?

yr wo sona ko bataa raha tha ki usse koi fark nahi padta agar wo maa nahi ban sakti he will be their for her bs aur kuch matlab nahi tha uska

So why did he not assure her the same thing when he was face to face with her, and she had asked him directly? I just think that Dev has still not thought through anything. He just wants to mend at the shallow level to pacify Ishwari. May be he is still thinking that in a few days, everything will be normal and Ishwari will forget about becoming dadi ma.

But how can it not matter to him if this is what is mom wants and he promised to give his mom what she wants ... How can he be there for Sona if his mom's only condition to come home was to get a grandchild? If Sona can't give a grandchild what will happen to his mom and his promise to her?

He is basically saying sona I don't care if you can't be a mother, but I know my mom wants a grandchild and I promised her that I would give her a grandchild ... His mom's wish is his command, so indirectly it really matters to him if she can't have a kid because then he'd be breaking his promise to his mom.

Dev was pacifying sona becoz-

Dev has multiple personality disorder where he has different contradictory viewpoint on the same topic in front of ishwari and sona respectively.

When dev says it doesn't matter to him he is forgetting one huge thing that dev is not alone he comes in a package deal. The other part of that package deal is ishwari. It may doesn't matter to dev but it is utmost important for ishwari that dev has a child.

Dev only wants to fix today's problem just like sona said without thinking about future. Just a quick fix. Nowhere close to balancing things between ishwari and sona.

Dev is fearful that maybe Boses will brainwash sona against treatments or sona may leave Dev forever

These behavior of Dev just reinforces the thought that he is obseed with Sonakshi. It's not love, the moment he has slitest hint that Sona could leave him he agrees to everything she wants. He only loves Ishwari but is obsessed to keep Sona near. Ishwari rightfully understood Sona is Dev favorite toy, just waiting for him to tire out and leave Sona and Bose family in peace.

I think Dev still stands by what he thought on Friday that Sona is enough for him. It really does not matter if she becomes a mother or not. It was just in the desperation of getting Ishwari back home that he agreed for the treatment. I was putting myself in Dev's shoes and wondering what else he could have done, left his mother in the temple?
